I am a caring person who loves to talk. I worked as CNA for a year and a half , I did home health for 6 months and right now I am currently working as a Med-Surg tech for 1 year and 3 months now at OU Edmond Health. I am working in this field because I love helping people get better, it brings me joy to see my patients smile after getting through a hard situation. I am mostly proud of myself because no matter how hard a task is that is put in front of me I get the job done.

I have been taking care people since i was 11. I started nursing when i was in middle school . what attracted me to do nursing is because all i like doing is helping and caring. Hello! My name is Krystal! I am 27, I have two children! I have been a caregiver since childhood, it just came natural. My uncle was handicapped, and a slight medical miracle, his continuing life surprising us every day. I spent my childhood taking care of him with family. At age 6, my cousin was in a car accident and left a quadriplegic with a severe wound in his stomach that required a wound vac, a halo, and several tubes and IV's. Carefully, I always helped with almost all of his care needed. My mother managed the Alzheimer's unit in a nursing home, I spent almost every day there after school. My passion only grew. I started CNA classes in 2010 in high school, finished in 2012 and started work in my local nursing home soon after. I've continued to work my way up, and had dreams of being a pediatric surgeon, but my children and seeing them grow up was more important than my career. I need to be here for all of their small moments. I've been working from home lately, and while I feel my current job does have a purpose, I would love to be back out there, actually caring for my people face to face. I miss the interactions and connections I build with them and their families.

I am patient, reliable, trustworthy, caring, and driven! I enjoy my life with others in the health care industry. I enjoy caring for others. It brings me joy to know that I'm apart of others life's experiences with it being getting well or to the very last stage and making them comfortable. I am very proud to say I have been a certified caregiver for 12 years, but also caring for my mother for 4 years before getting certified.

What I can provide and feel make a great caregiver are the following; provide companionship, help with housekeeping, monitor with medication, assist with basic care plans, meal preps. doctor appointments, run errands. I'm a professional Licensed counselor in Arizona however, after divorce I left my career of 25 years in Arizona because my license doesn't transfer out of state. I enjoy helping people and feel I will need assistance someday & know how I want to be treated and hope I will be treated the way I treat others (kind, compassion, and loving) I moved to Oklahoma recently. Ready to change my career path. I have worked with several amazing physicians and have several references from medical directors who know me personally and professionally. I have completed several courses on "Working with Elderly" . I will continue ongoing trainings to improve my skills. .
