Ever since my mother was diagnosed in 2016 with kidney cancer, I've taken a newfound appreciation for home health care. I helped my father and younger sister care for our mother in her last years. My family has instilled a kindness in me that I carry with me every single day, as it's part of who I am, of who they raised me to be. My parents taught me about how to reflect the love I've been given in my life back out into the world, and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about how I can make a difference. I've learned a lot in my life about patience, about knowing to remain joyful in every day, as we are never promised tomorrow. I've been a caregiver for my father in the last few years as well, and I'll never regret that. Being someone who will listen, who will show up and be there for the ones we love, that is what is important to me. I hope I can be that pillar of support for others in my life, and I'm inspired by my parents kindness to do so. I enjoy being able to give others a chance at independence, to feel better about their situations knowing it doesn't have to be done alone. Helping my family in their time of need has been my greatest achievement, because at the end of the day the connections I carry through this life are what matter the most to me. I'm always wanting to learn, wanting to elevate my understanding of this life in how we can help each other, and my goal is to continue to bring that kindness instilled to me to every table I sit at in my life. My father and sister have lived their whole lives with diabetes, so I'm very familiar with treatments and knowing the signs for potential lows or highs in blood sugar levels. I believe in respecting people who need support and allow myself to be available however I can in their day to day life. I keep myself in good shape and have no problems with assisting in any heavy lifting a client may need.

Hello Family, my name is Telus. I am 43 years old. I have an infinite amount of love for Nature, the Elderly and Dogs. I am a Libra so that means caring for others is an autonomous way of being. I became a caregiver because I have always wanted to take care of people. Helping people who are ill with their daily life and easing their stress is what I love most about being a caregiver but there are many things I enjoy about it. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is doing hospice for three plus years and enjoying it everyday. Knowing that I can ease the stress for people and their families during this stage in life is rewarding. I recently moved to North Carolina from Arizona and miss working. I enjoy doing private care because you can spend more quality time with people. I am currently working on finishing my RN degree.
