I have been an LPN for 30 years.I worked for approximately 25 years in long term care with geriatrics.I chose geriatrics after being a caregiver for my grandmother who was diagnosed with dementia.After 25 years in long term care I transitioned to hospice care for the last 5 years.I continue to work with hospice prn and I am looking to work with patients to provide in home care.During my nursing career I specialized in wound care.I am a caregiver from the heart and will provide excellent care to those that I serve.

My personality trait is that I am a caring person and treat every patient as if they are my family member. The thing that attracted me to being a caregiver is knowing that i can help make a difference in their life. The thing that I enjoy most about being a caregiver is giving the care. A personal achievement that I am proud of is becoming a CNA it has been over 15years ago since I started and I have learned so much.

i became a care giver because i love what i do and enjoy my job. I became a care giver because I love to help people. I love being a caregiver to me it is so rewarding.I have always been told I was the best care giver the company I work for ever had that is such a achievement that I am so proud of I always go the extra mile it does not take a lot to make some one day.I have never missed a day of work or called in sick. In my past I have had many jobs in the industrial field and realized that through performing routine tasks there is a larger scale product involved. Each task must be done with quality in order to serve the company as a whole. All of the parts come together in order to make a whole. I see this when I serve a patient as well. Even though I may just be a tech, I realize that my job is just as important as everyone on the nursing team. If I don’t perform efficiently or diligently it effects not only my patients, but the team as a whole suffers. During my CNA classes I learned that providing quality care was a vital part of improving and maintaining optimal health. I have had some private care jobs where I worked as a unlicensed tech and during my time doing this I realized the joy I can bring to others as well as the joy it gives me to serve those whom have provided a path for me to embrace my goals.
