I'm a easygoing and energetic caregiver. Learning routines, meaning learning the way my patients/clients and theirs families would like things to be done is what made me a great caregiver. I love helping people who really can't help themselves feel a little better and feel comfortable is what attracted me to caregiving. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is the companionships and making sure they get to their doctors appointments and grocery shopping for them really brightens their day. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is taking care of my grandmother all the way until the end. I always made sure she was comfortable, happy and satisfied. she often told me how proud she was of me for taking care of her.

I have work in healthcare for over 35 years. The first 18 were with developmentally disabled individuals. I then stepped into roles as a home health aide, patient care technician, patient care assistant, professional addictions counselor, medical assistant and a certified nursing assistant. Because I am a people person and I have always treated everyone as if they were my mother and father, I have really loved and enjoyed helping people as much as possible on a daily basis. It has always come natural for me to take care of another, it pleases my soul.

I consider myself a great caregiver, because I love what I do as a caregiver. I love making sure that the individuals feel loved and make sure all their needs are obtained. I started out very young as a caregiver, taking care of my father and aunts when they could not do things for themselves. Throughout the years those skills stayed with me. The one thing that I like most about being a caregiver is being the best that I can be. The two most valuable achievment that made me proud was becoming a mother and grandmother.

My entire life I've had diligently and gracefully taken care of others, and I've worked several years to serve my community. I have experience working in a rehabilitation, surgery, and long term care facility and it was something I found extremely rewarding. I'm also a licensed Phlebotomist, so I have several years in healthcare! I served for 5 years in the United States Army as a Law Enforcement Officer protecting and serving the community of Ft. Campbell and the surrounding areas. I enjoy being a caregiver because I know that I can guarantee stability, consistency and a peace of mind to an individual or their family member, by caring for those who just need some extra help. I became a caregiver because I have a big heart and a lot to offer in ways of understanding and patience. I see my clients as people still and not just a job. I also have personal experience with special needs and a long range of care. From hydrocephalus and a shunt as well as multiple surgeries and recovery, incontinence and Cath care and multiple other things I have went through with one of my twins since birth. Also have worked with hospice patients and families. Have also went through my own person experiences with hospice and with loss including one of my children and with others close to me.
