Hello! My name is Desiree and I have been caregiving professionally since 2008 beginning with my cousin with developmental disabilities. My first job after high school was housekeeping in nursing home and hospital and I always found myself trying to interact with the clients, whether it just be conversations or pushing them back to their rooms after meals. I have mostly worked in CILA homes taking care of the developmentally disabled and I absolutely enjoyed every moment and every prrsonality I ever met! Never a full moment, I began as a DSP and was a house manager for the same company. I have also worked some side jobs taking care of the elderly, a couple until they passed, and another until she just didn't need the extra help Amy more. I have wanted be a caregiver for as long as I can remember, I had a grandpa that had lost both legs, one due to a stroke and the other because of Gangrene. My grandmother need a lot of help with him from changing diapers to helping with feeding once he got a feeding tube, and I was always their! I don't feel like myself unless I'm helping someone else live their best life!

Hello my name is Alexis, I do prefer to be called Lex. A few of my personality traits are personable, ambitious, thoughtful, selfless, dedicated. I wanted to become a care giver after caring for my grandmother who has dementia and my mother after she broke her ankle and became non weight bearing. I was told by family that I was very good and a natural and should become a nurse, but I'd much rather do more of the same as I did with my mom and grandmother.

I'm very compassionate and patient. I've previous experience taking care of my brother who suffered from muscular dystrophy since he was 8-20. I've been granted a citizenship award in high school for my efforts with him. I want to help impact peoples lives for the better, and I believe that i would be well suited for this position. A smile is worth a thousand words and if I can help peoples lives a little less difficult and make them smile, I feel as though I've done a good job.

Something I've always took pride in is how caring I am towards people. I have always been empathetic and really dive in to conversations with people too get to know them. I am compassionate. I have always been a team player but I also believe in being a leader. I've put a lot of thought into being a healthcare worker, because it is not an easy job. But I've also thought about how many people need help in being cared for. I love the job that I do. I believe the most personal achievement I am proud of is getting so close to my patients. I've connected with a lot of people. I remember I had a patient that I took care of for almost a year and I really connected with her. After some time she got really sick and was soon going to pass. I met her family and asked them if I could sing to her and they let me ( I sang to her a lot). Little did I know that they were not going to be able to have a service for her. When we were done singing and praising they all just cried and thanked me. They told me that they weren't going to be able to have service and it was as if God brought the service through me as a vessel. I believe that was my greatest accomplishment in this job.

Hi! I'm Heather. I have been in this profession for about 10 years now. There's nothing more than i love being a caregiver. I have bathed, I have groomed, IVE done the exercises, the feeding , cooking, errands, doctors. Just about all of it. Everyone seems to love me and say im outgoing. I just try to be there because I know they need a companion and I know even though no matter how my day is going at the time, showing up and being there with them makes theirs and that makes my day 100 percent better.
