I became a caregiver for a few reasons but its two reasons that stand out above all. The first of the reasons was to gain some experience in the medical field because my career goal was and is to be a registered nurse. The experience you gather being a caregiver is valuable, immeasurable, and translates to other job that involves caregiving. The second reason is because I really enjoy caring for people. There is no greater pleasure you can receive than the joy of helping someone in need. I am glad to say I have completed my Associates RN degree program. I am not a licensed nurse at this point but that is the next step in the plan. I am a very hardworking honest and loyal person. I consider my personality a great asset because one of the best non-pharmacological medicines is laughter. I like to lighten the mood and am very easy to get along with and work along side.

I became a caregiver because I love caring for people and meeting all their needs. What I like about being a caregiver/CNA is seeing what a difference I can make by simply smiling and making someone's day so much better. Being able to help them with the little things that other people take for granted and helping them reach their full potential of good health again. A personal achievement I'm proud of is how much Ive accomplished since Ive had my son, and how much schooling I have put myself through, and how well Ive done while doing most of it on my own. I have been a CNA for 5 years. I have worked in a Nursing Home setting as well as Hospital, hospice and Rehabilitation along with Home Health. I started my journey taking care of my grandparents and then passed that honor onto a younger brother as I started school to become an administrator in a nursing home. My goal is still to become an administrator. I have my bachelor's and I'm working on my masters degree and a certificate at the same time. I am looking for something more personalised than a nursing home setting and would like to get back into home health.
Deeply committed to treating my elderly clients with dignity and respect, my goal is to win their trust and alleviate any embarrassment or anxiety they may feel when needing assistance with bathing, toileting, grooming or other personal care. I also excel at planning creative activities customized to my clientst needs and physical/mental abilities. It can be challenging at times, but I truly enjoy working with elderly residents. Though I strive to make a meaningful difference in their lives, the ongoing lessons I have learned from them have in return made a lasting impact in my life.
