There are many great reasons why people become caregivers. My reason for becoming a caregiver is my passion for helping others, especially those in need. I enjoy being a caregiver because it is a very rewarding experience to be a blessing to others. I found that I am wonderful at helping others. Finding my career path is the greatest achievment I have experienced yet. I am a caring, compassionate, hard working person. I am experienced in the field and love what I do.
I love to work with individuals of all sorts. Listening to their stories makes me love my job. Also being there for someone who is in need also lightens me up every single day. My grandmother worked in this line of business for over 20+ years she has recently pasted away and that is what made me approach this and also appreciate it
I have been caregiving most of my life. I started taking care of my grandfather while he was afflicted by Alzheimer's. My first child was born with a brain injury and was considered severe and profound. I chose to love him and take care of him in a home environment for his entire life which grew to 23 years. I also cared for my grandmother throughout all surgeries and aftercare. In addition I have knowledge of spinal cord injuries and care.
As a care giver I am gentle and have a lot of patience, its something i absolutely enjoy doing. I was pulled into this line of work when i was a home care aid before i became a cna from a fill in job and the client had a moment of clarity and told me that i had given them hope, it was right then that i knew this is what i needed to do. For me, it isnt a job, its a calling because i enjoy most connecting with those i take care of.
I currently work at Center of Hope in Rockford as a DSP Aide for adults with developmental disabilities. I also have previous experience as a caregiver for seniors with Alzheimer's. I am very passionate about what I do. I go above and beyond for my individuals whether it's spending money out of pocket to treat them or spending time with them off the clock. My individuals happiness and comfort is the most important to me. I have been recognized many times at my job for doing so much for them. Simply making them smile is very rewarding to me. I am searching for a part time caregiving poisition for the weekends or weekday evenings.
I worked as a medical assistant for 3 years. I took care of my grandma making sure she took her medications daily as well as preparing her food every day making sure she was comfortable until the day she passed. Now I take care of my husband due to him having many medical issues. I am very easy to get along with and treat all my patients with respect and compassion. It has always been a passion of mine to help others in need of assistance.
