I think I would be a great care giver because I have experience with care giving. I was employed at a home health care facility and loved going to clients homes and tending to their needs. House keeping, preparing meals, grocery shopping, Dr. appointments etc. I was very good at it too. I am a compassionate person when it comes to caring for ageing adults. I am anxious to begin a new career with CareLinx

I became a caregiver because I love helping people. I like being able to be there when someone needs extra help with everything even the little things, and putting a smile on someone's face that may just be having a bad day. I think going back to school would be my achievement that i'm proud of most, I started the LPN program and graduated now waiting to take my boards, so I can go on and become an RN and get my Masters in Nursing so I can teach.

Hello! My name is Soevierra Granderson, and im currently looking for the postion of caregiver. I have experience with helping my grandmother at very young age until now such as bathing, feeding, using the restroom, changing linen, cooking and transportation. I have graduated from Rock Island High School year of 2018. I am now studying for Air Force and I want go serve our country and be a nurse. I really believe I would be great at this job because so much experience I have had with my grandmother. I am outgoing , enjoy meeting new people, self-motivated, and love to learn new things.
I decided I wanted to be a caregiver when my grandma got dementia and needed help with everything. I would check in on her every other day until my Aunt moved her out of town and put her in a nursing home. Wasn't happy with the care she was receiving and knew I'm more caring and generous than them. I'm understanding and a hard worker. I let my CNA expire but still graduated for it with good grades. I only left Barbs because she died unfortunately. I was sad and upset with the other caregivers because they did not seem to care and talked down to her. But over the last few yrs we have a house directly across the street for brain damaged residents and today I just took one some bday presents and rubbed a cramp out of anothers leg so I wanted to go back to doing it. I'm involved with bible study to better myself and just got cleared as after 2 yrs of blood clots in my brain. I enjoy helping people when I'm capable as and have always gotten along with the elderly. They make me smile with their stories and appreciation. My personal achievement I'm most proud of is that I've been sober since 2008. I worked at a bar and was easily persuaded to stay and drink and got me into trouble. I hope you can see past that because I am a good, loyal, caring, generous, hard working individual.
It all Started when I was very young, I was 5 and Started To realize my mom's balance wasnt like the other kids mom's. It was just my mom and I, so I instinctively helped her as much as a 5 year old could. As I got older she got worse, and I could help more. That's exactly what I did. She ended up being misdiagnosed with polyneuropathy in the mid 90s. She got worse over the years, and eventually could not walk at all. In 2008-09 we found out she had a tumor growing all throughout her spinal cord. which was in fact the cause of why she was losing and eventually lost the ability to walk at all. She can't feel her legs and feet, or anything below the belly button. She ended up getting bed sores, so I change her wound dressings daily, and a nurse comes one day a week. She takes pictures of her progress. I have experienced with the wound vac, and right now we just use silver nitrate and barrier cream, and flip her on her sides for two hours. This is the second time she's had these sores so they won't ever heal fully. I used to get paid by seiu (doors) to be her caregiver but they cut her off for her assets. So I still take care of her and do everything the same 7 days a week any way. I am fully qualified, I run arrends, prepare meals, clean, so laundry, bathe her and just tend to her needs.
I first became interested in working with the elderly in high school. I have worked in care facilities as well as in client homes. Personally I enjoy working in the homes more allowing the person to stay in their home versus going to a facility. The smiles on the clients face is priceless and it makes what ever chore or task worth doing. I have always went the extra mile for the client even if it meant I wouldnt be paid.
I am 21 years old, I am currently out of school on winter break. I was at Kirkwood Community College for 2 years, I finished most of my prerequisites, now I am back in the Quad Cities, to get a lot more experience until I'm back at Black Hawk in the fall! I have been working with the elderly since I was 16, I have worked in assisted living/and nursing homes but I'm home care is my favorite. I like to be in their home, where they feel happy. So they can feel comfortable at all times. I like to do things that they would like to do, ( nails, shopping, eating, sewing, talking, bingo, puzzles, music, hair salon etc. The little that they might think they can't do anymore. I make sure that they are having fun! And for the ones who can't get out, I do activities in home to.
