I became a CNA/caregiver/home health aide because I honestly believe in truly compassionate care for people in need whether is the geriatrics, pediatrics, or the mentally impaired or psych or a combination of all the above. I enjoy knowing that I have helped someone get through another day on this earth with their family and if they don't have any family at least they know someone was there for them when it was needed and proof that there are still nice, caring, and honest people out there.
Skills & Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant, Home health aide
I became a caregiver to two men that are autistic. I became there caregiver because I would rather help someone else then help myself. I think of other people before myself. It takes a special kind of person to give care to someone and be genuine about it, which is a characteristic about myself that I think I have. I like being a care giver because I have a passion for other people. Seeing someone that has a disability be happy and lead a healthy life ahead of them is something I strive for in working with the men that I do now. When working with people with disabilities for awhile you grow an attachment to them. One of the men I work with has a mind of a 18 month old baby. I am not a parent myself but its like caring for an infant, so I always want to see improvement in his everyday tasks just like any other caring parent would. It just enlightens my job. A personal achievement that I am proud of would be, yes getting through school. Schooling is a big part of someone my age's life. I have a condition called dyslexia, which made it even harder but pushed me to try my best and achieve a diploma like a did this past year. I am a very hard worker, once I put my mind to something I plan on finishing it to my best abilities. I am a very kind and loving person which makes me who I am.

I am a 19 year old college student and I am studying to be a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. I've always loved being around people and helping as much as I can. I love knowing that I can make someone's day a little bit better just by being an ear to listen. I am proud to say that I graduated high school a full year early and I also have an amazing son!

I am a mother of 3 my oldest having type 1 diabetes. I grew up taking care of people. My grandfather, whom I lived with growing up was diagnosed with terminal cancer when I was 3. He had passed shortly after my 5th bday. There were nurses in and out and the entire family took short classes to provide daily care for him. I have wanted to become a nurse since then.
I have had experience with a variety of clients and I am hoping to get to experience many more! I knew I wanted to be a caregiver when I saw my grandmother in a nursing home and realized that the importance of being in the comfort of your own home when you have health issue.
