I enjoy people of all ages and it shows in the way that I interact with them. My interest in others makes me a good listener as a well as participant in conversations. I am generally lighthearted which makes tough situations easier to work through, although I am serious when the situation calls for it. My first volunteer work was in middle school and I was a candy striper in my small town's nursing home. I have had the opportunity to fill many roles both as a paid worker and a volunteer, including being a foster and adoptive parent, short-term caregiver to a boy with autism, long-term caregiver to my youngest son with two chronic medical conditions, teacher to my youngest son, high school chaperone, bank examiner, corporate trainer, non-profit executive director, short-term English teacher in China and many others. I am most proud of my work with my youngest son, Zach who is in high school. He is a confident, respectful and well-adjusted young man. He does not feel like he is at a disadvantage despite his medical conditions and high functioning autism. I receive a lot of personal satisfaction from making others' lives easier.

I am very passionate about being a caregiver and my positive and cheery disposition makes me very much suited to work.

Some personality traits that I believe will help me being a caregiver are being compassionate, trustworthy, respectful, and supportive. What attracted me to being a caregiver was remembering taking care of my grandpa and being there for him in ways others couldn't be, and enjoying the quality I spent with him. One of the main reasons why I enjoy being a caregiver is being able to assist those in need and genuinely caring for those who aren't able to care for themselves. A personal achievement that I am very proud of is becoming a plant mom and being able to keep them alive and thriving!

I am compassionate about patients in that I make sure to provide the best care possible. I was attracted to caregiving in that I cared for my mother during her illness. I enjoy knowing that I have provided some relief for the patient. My personal achievement that I am proud of is continuing my education. I will have a Bachelors degree in February 2022.

I have always been a caregiver starting when I was young and taking care of my younger siblings. When parents became older I cared for both of them through hospice care at home. I have worked several years in the industry in a group home setting care for adults whom are disabled.

I am Miss Lucia a very passionate caregiver. It brings me joy in seeing my clients being well taken care of by me. My optimum goal is to make sure my clients daily needs are met and I am also helping them with their activities of daily living.

Growing up, I played a major role in caring for my grandmother, which taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of providing dependable support to those who need it most. I'm very family-oriented and bring that same sense of dedication to the people I work with. My military background has strengthened my reliability, attention to detail, and ability to stay calm in challenging situations. I'm passionate about helping others and motivated to make a positive impact through caregiving.

I see myself as a great caregiver because I am always willing to lend a helping hand. I'm patient, easy-going, hard-working, and kind. Helping others makes me feel good about myself. In helping others the selflessness of it enriches the lives of those being helped and their families. I'd have to say that one of my personal achievements I'm most proud of is helping one of my consumers that had cancer I took her to her medical appointments and her cancer went into remission.
