The things that makes me a great caregiver would be, I am passionate about my job. I love caring for others an giving them reasons to look forward to a smile on their face. My mother has been a caregiver for over 17 plus years. When she decided to become a caregiver I wanted to be just like her. She is my biggest inspiration on caring for others and not just only yourself. I enjoy being a caregiver because I see how some clients are lonely and just would like someone to talk to. If I can beat helping hand to just one person then I have felt as though I have done just one good gesture for the day. I have had experience in nursing homes, I have worked around the mentally challenged, I currently work for a agency as a (HHA).
I have over 25 years of experience in the medical field. I'm a CNA/GNA, CMT, CPR & First Aid Certified. I attend CEU trainings throughout the year for Alzheimer's Disease. I enjoy providing services allowing individuals to remain in a safe home environment. Being a caregiver is something I've always wanted to do as a young child and I'm glad I'm still able to provide quality services years later.
I became a caregiver because I love to help people who can't either help themselves or needs assistance. Also because at the age of 14 I became my mother's caregiver along with my sister and grandmother until I was old enough to take care of my mother on my own for 9 years. What I like about being a caregiver is I know at the end of the day when I go home I have done my job and have made my resident and family happy. It does my heart good when the person and family I care for tell me "thank you". My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I have learned a lot of different things about being a caregiver such as, womb care, medication, transferring just to name a few. I am a single mother of 2 boys 1 girl and I am going to pursue my nursing career. I also have experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care. My current job is working on the ICU unit of a hospital so i have gained a lot more experience in the medical field.
I'm a good caregiver , I have my caring heart for everyone,I am a loving person. I am a christian. being a caregiver it is not get pay for what am doing . It is about the way I do something for someone who can do it herself, I feel good about it. because I am helping someone who needs help. I like to communicate with others to make them feel comfortable. I am proud to be a caregiver to take care of loving one every day and never tired of it.
I have been employed as a caregiver for 30 yrs. Enjoy meeting people and learning about there lives as well as helping them live as healthy and comfortable as possible. Having found such enjoyment throughout my career by listening to there life stories learning about the conditions they grew up in as well as the travel they have experienced. Fully capable of dealing with stressful situation ,confident in taking vital signs, administering medication, performing total care practices, shopping and doctor appointments.
I am compassionate, high sense of empathy. I am detail oriented, fast learner, very clean and organized. During my undergraduate career I worked as a LifeLink Student Mentor. A student mentor is usually a college student who accompanies young adults who suffer different disabilities to college classes, help them take notes or anything they may require help with. The program was designed to help those young adults experience the college atmosphere after graduating high school. I have also worked with senior citizens, kept them company, prepared meals for them, gave them medicine, cleaned their houses, helped them bathe and change their clothes. What attracted me the most, is all the different personalities I met, all the stories and wisdom individuals shared with me. I got to experience the world through their eyes. For example, when I worked as a student mentor, I did not realize there is adults and college students who did not understand disabilities and were so ignorant to laugh at them. I never imagined people can be so cruel, but I was happy I was there for them to protect them and defend them. It broke my heart when I first experienced such ignorance. The achievement I am proud of most, which I don't think was very special, is getting accepted into Pennsylvania State University. I came to the United States in the year 2005, I came from a country where I wasn't taught English. I was able to teach myself English, I excelled in my high school that I was the only student who is getting paid to tutor other ESL students in Math, I made honor roll in the first semester. I got an outstanding grade in my SAT that got me into PSU with scholarship fully paid. So, this is about, I hope it wasn't too long or boring. Looking forward to meeting and working for you.
I would make a great asset to this company because I am very sociable and not only do I love my job, I try to build a trustworthy relationship with all of my people. I have 4+ years in the caregiving field. I am a fun loving person who loves to see others smile. I started being interested in caregiving because I watched my grandmother back when she was able to work. I sat at her job everyday to help her with her client whom I grew to have a relationship with before she passed. I am proud to be able to help those who cant do the things that they were once able to do.
