I enjoy helping others, and one of the things I like is to get engage the client and family in their care. I love cooking and reading, I love to engage into a routine that makes my client confident on his/her care. However, at times some people likes to pick what ever they like to do daily, still, there is no problem with that! I am a happy person, I enjoy making my client smile and keep with good spirit. I enjoy the outdoors and keeping my client active. I have worked for hospice as well, and I do not have a problem seating with someone and just listen, or also just keep silent while things do not go the way they expected. I have a great training with Alzheimer's disease and dementia; and here, I really enjoy the elderly! I received my CNA/HHA certification in 1997 and kept it until 2009 I believe; however in California we do not need it, now it is a registry for caregivers and I am registered. I am sorry if you are looking for a cna because I am not. I moved from California to Virginia and have not attended school here. I do have a valid with very good clean driving record DL and a CPR training if need it and I am well trained when doing safe transfers.
I became a caregiver because I have compassion for the weak and the vulnerable. I am the first born of my parents and growing up I had the opportunity to take care of four of my younger siblings. This early childhood experience has imbued in my the love of taking care of children and the elderly ones. What I like about being a caregiver is the fact that it affords me the opportunity to bring smile on the faces of those who feel lonely and excluded. Listening to such ones share their life experiences also makes me happy and encouraged to assist them more. My personal achievement that I am proud of is having completed a college with a bachelor's degree in education and also having being able to obtained board certification in nursing aide. I have been able to handled challenging clients who initially did not want others to attend to them. But when such ones see me they feel happy to have me around them. They tell my supervisor how much they appreciate my service and I think that is a great feat of achievement. I was on May 16, 1972. I have completed both high school and college. I have taught kids in lower middle school and Junior high school. I have bachelor's degree in education. I am married and devout Christian. I love preaching about God's Kingdom to people. I have tender affection and compassion for people especially the vulnerable and the afflicted one.
When I became a caregiver more than twenty five years ago it was because I had a passion to help those who are in need of support by providing them with the necessary care to enhance their quality of life. Caring for a person in their home is like caring for a family member in that the same integrity shown towards my own must be shown towards persons in my care. The best part of being a caregiver is knowing that my work can make a difference in someone lives, being able to give them a sense of well being and providing them with an environment that is safe for them to live in. Helping them to maintain as much independence while assuring that their health and livelihood are important.

I am very dependable and reliable. I show all my patients that I care about their needs (mental, physical, emotional and spiritual). Giving the best care to my patients is my main priority. My favorite thing about being a caregiver is meal prep and grooming my patients. I provide the care that allows someone to feel loved instead of someone that is unable to do things by theirselves.
