I have undergone a CNA training, special education and practical nursing. I have been in the health care for 8 years improving each time and never stop learning from people i worked with. Nursing has always been a satisfying and most fulfilling experience i have ever done. I can see myself doing nursing care until i can't do it anymore.
Hi, I am a woman that heart is set on taking care of the elderly. I have been doing in home care for myself these past 10-1/2 years. I feel strongly that the resident comes first in all that I do. Their needs is what I am there for. You have to have a special heart and compassionate heart for this type of work. That is who I am. Giving a patient my love, my time, my skills is what I enjoy the most. No matter their illness, disease etc, they all deserve the best care possible. My gram died of Alzheimer's years ago. Taking care of her was the most rewarding experience I had in this field but it has lead me to continue to care for those in need.
My care giving journey began when I was 22 taking care of my grandparents. I have always possessed an empathetic and patient spirit. Even as a beginner, my forte as a caregiver was clear-cut. 10 care giving years later, I'm still eager to deliver excellent care and making a difference. My skills include but not limited to: Highly skilled in assisting and dealing with Alzheimer's, Palliative/Hospice Care, MS, and Parkinson's. In-depth knowledge of providing personal grooming; skin care, hair, nails and oral care. Hands-on experience in monitoring blood pressure, blood sugar, vital signs, pulse, temperature and respiration. Providing assistance in bathing, toileting, dressing and personal hygiene. Demonstrated ability to encourage everyday activities in keeping with the clients needs and capabilities. In my care, I understand that these may be the last few years or months in their lives and I only hope to make those days as pleasant and joyful as possible. Blessings! With honor, Laura

I became a caregiver at 17 for my grandmother who was terminally ill due to stage 4 breast cancer. Once I realized that I had a true act at this type of work, I fell in love with my choice. I love to spend time with the elderly and I absolutely love to see the smile on their faces when I care for them. I do plan to further my career choice and become an RN but I will never leave this type of work. I love to do live in because it shows me how my client lives on a day to day basis
I became a caregiver because I saw the need that individuals needed in being assisted. I always helped my grandmother until she passed, at an early age I obtained a heart that was sincere and compassionate. I love helping others whether it's care or just companionship I'm able to give a piece of myself. My personal achievement that I am proud of is being on the Dean's List at Western Michigan University maintaining a 3.6 gpa while working two jobs and raising two children as a single parent. I am a hard working with a loving heart. I put my all into what I do.

Hello, my name is YaJaira Martin and I am 22 years old. I have been caregiving in a facility for 2 years. What attracted me to being a caregiver is when I took care of my great grandmother. It was amazing giving a helping hand, reassuring her that she was safe and knowing that she trusted me made me love my job even more. What I love about being a caregiver is that I'm helping someone and they trust me. Meeting new clients and hearing their stories give me so much happiness. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is being able to take care of my grandmother before she passed and how grateful she was to have me helping her.
A certified CNA and business owner with over 10+years of experience working in the home health care field. I assist with geriatrics client's so they have still have a normal life outside of acquiring my services. I will maintain a one on one client basis until my services are no longer needed and my hope is that by taking on one client at a time, I can dedicate my services based on the needs of that individual client. Looking to work with the Oakland/Wayne county areas.
