I'm very outgoing and easy to get along with and listen very well and observe thing's as well. I love helping the elderly and love to hear there stories and I feel rewarded when helping them with there daily routines or anything they need help with. I'm very proud of getting certified to work with the elderly and learn everything I know to take care of them with there need's, I know how to take blood pressure's, do cpr, check blood sugar, can give insulin if needed, know how to give showers, and do medicine reminder.

I'm a happy person I love my family I'm a grandma of 7 soon to be 8. I love to visit with older people and help them I take care of my husbands grandma and my great aunt on my days off

I have always loved helping people especially those who cannot always help themselves. I am very out going and at my current job love to get them out and about in the community such as going for walks and the free concerts that r offered in our area thru the summer. My residents also love to go to the movies. One of my personal achievements that i am most proud of is with the help of my husband building a garden box got my residents out and growing their own vegetables which in turn made them want to eat the healthy food. I find happiness in the work i do i wish i had got into this field of work years ago and would like to continue doing what i do for anyone that needs the assistance.

I've been in the health care field since 2011. I Started off working in adult foster care then transitioned into working at a Daytime Enrichment Program. Recently, I've started Helping Hands In Home Respite Services to provide families with temporary breaks from taking care of their loved ones. I started my journey assisting others in this field shortly after leaving college to help take care of my mother in 2010. One thing I love about working as a caregiver is the people that I serve. Helping those in need brings great rewards; building new relationships, learning and experiencing new tasks, making someone's life a little better, one day at a time.

I was born in Lansing MI, and at two I moved to Grand Rapids, I went to Eastern Elementary School and then to Creston High School. I took up Machine Shop and Architectural Drawing. I was the oldest of 12 children. After high school I took a Tool & Die Apprenticeship. I also worked as a volunteer for the fire department. I built a house in Sparta Township where I live with my wife. I retired from Tool Die 2010 because of cancer. Then I started volunteering at Rest Haven Homes which ended up in a paid position. I enjoy making some one happy and to do the things they enjoy and also to be a companion and a friend. I do transportation to doctor appointments, dentist appointments, shopping, movies, out to eat, visit a friend, errands, or travel, I also do in home care with dressing assistance, mobility, exercise, meal planning, and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, etc. I have completed classes on Hospice Care, Dementia, and worked at Rest Haven Homes for 12 years, and 3 1/2 years with Leaves Personal Care.

Some personality traits about myself is that I'm outgoing, caring and honest when it comes to my work and always try doing my best job at any task that I'm given. Helping my grandmother take care of my great grandmother attracted me to become a caregiver, helping others you love is an unmatched feeling. I enjoy being able to make the clients smile and happy knowing I made their day easier just by being a helping hand. A personal achievement I'm proud of is still being in college although I ran into some obstacles along the way.
