I'm a very honest and loyal person.I believe it's my spiritual calling I try working other places but my heart was not in it . I luv being of an assistant, companionship, helping and giving my all to make sure my patience is happy and comfortable. I had a patient I work with for almost 10 years until she pass away I made sure I was there for her every needs to assist her .. I truely think that being a caregiver just came naturally to me. Growing up my great grandmother lived with us and I was taught at a young age how to care for an elderly person. It is a passion in life to make a difference in someone else's life in a positive way. I believe I have done this many times working for individuals and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I became a caregiver taking care of my father who was 83 at the time and who suffered with Alzheimer's. I took care of him till he passed at age 87. I like being a caregiver as it gives me a since of accomplishment helping others and allowing them to enjoy as much of life as he/she has left. Being a caregiver is a very rewarding and fulfilling opportunity.
I love people and very patient with them.The best way to being a great care giver is being honest and taking directions very well.Always pay attention to your patient and have good communication. Being a great care giver is not about getting paid.Its about the deep satisfaction you get when you have help someones life improve, no matter what problems they are facing. I love working with the elderly because I know that one I'll pass that way God willing and I want someone to treat me as I treat my clients. I fall in love with them because some of them have no one so I care for them as if they were one of my great grand parents or grandparents. I am a Certified Medical Assistant. I have about 7 years of experience working with the elderly. I am CPR/ First Aid certified. I have been told I have a kind heart- which I feel helps me in my day-to-day life- helping others- treating others the way I would want to be treated. I have 15 years experience as a Caregiver. I have worked for Home Health Agencies but I also work independently as a Caregiver/Companion and I am also a C. N. A.. I have hands on experience caring for clients who have had a wide range of issues including but not limited to mobility, dementia, heart problems, lung problems, and etc. ranging from mild to severe.
