I am a certified CNA with 28 years of experience. I was motivated to be a caregiver at a young age living with my grandparents who raised me. My grandfather had a stroke and diabetes. At the age of 12 I assisted my grandmother to take care of him because I loved them very much. I believe you should do unto others as you will have them do unto you by being accountable, putting their priorities first and giving lots of tender loving care. I always do above and beyond my call of duty. My greatest achievement in CNA is that I have never been unaccountable for not working when I said I will do the job. Clients accept me as part of their family and never want to get rid of me.
I'm a great caregiver because I have empathy toward people with health issues and this is part of my calling - to assist people to engage their lives as full as possible. What attracts me to care giving is the unconditional appreciation I have received over the years. What I enjoy most about being a care giver would be reciprocity from clients to live and not take for granted the little things. My personal achievement has been making life long friends and some have been considered family.
I Am not just getting started as a provider, I have been caring for aging seniors in residential and facilities for 15 years. I am committed to delivering superior personalized care. I believe in satisfaction and morale. Also committed to maintaining an at home, family like environment for seniors whose families are unable to provide at home care. I will get to know their needs , dislikes and comfort level and make certain their health and safety is not compromised. My passion for caring for seniors started with caring for my mother in-law that was diagnosed with dementia and I cared for her from 1996 -2006. I still miss her because she was like a 2nd mother to me.
What makes me a great caregiver is my eagerness to help others restore what they've lost by guiding them and redirecting. I became a caregiver not only because I had an elements in my life where I wasn't able to do for myself but because I no what it's like to not be able to perform certain tasks that i use to do. What I like about being a caregiver is the reward feeling I get when making someones day and those to words thank you A personal achievement that im proud of was when I didn't think I could finish and achieve my associates degree as a medical assistan with everything that was going on around me.

I feel that I am qualified for this position because of the experiences I have had in the Boston public school system, as well as my attention to detail, my focus and commitment, and my ability to work in a team environment. I have an ability to connect with adults and communicate openly with family members. My experience and skillset make me an excellent fit for a position. I started out in a privately owned Assisted Living in 2003, not needing my LNA. During my first year there, I fell in love with taking care of others. Their needs are always put before mine, I like to focus on quality of life. My personal achievement would have to be moving to another state and challenging my skills to take the test and get my CNA here in NC in 2010. To have a career that makes a difference in peoples lives. Meeting and interacting with individuals that you sometimes normally would not get the chance to. While working at a assisted living facility I performed CPR on an elderly woman who was choking during dinner. Afterwards she told me how thankful she was and her family wrote a letter stating how grateful they were. The company also expressed their gratitude for what I'd done. I am an understanding, kind, and fair person who does not mind helping people from different cultures and back rounds .That's just how I was raised.
