I'm sensitive, patient ,Responsible respectful, and very compassionate. I became interested in becoming a caregiver at the age of 18. I knew this was truly my calling because of the joy it gave me. Taking care of my mom as she struggled with dementia gave me a greater compassion to help elderly .my personal achievement is quality-of-life.
I am a mother of three productive adult children. Caring for my grandmother prior to her death gave me a whole new perspective about end of life care. And although it was a short time, it made an impact on me. I like to cook and don't mind cleaning or running errands. Sometimes just spending time with someone who is lonely can really make a difference in their life. One of the things I am most proud of is my participation in the making of a documentary that is now registered in the Library of Congress. I was able to interview Bennett College alumni from 1958. They were lovely ladies to work with.
I am a mother of three daughters . I have always been taking care of someone. When I was a teen I babysat and in my late teens I took care of my grandmother who was dying of cancer. I have done fill in work for my aunt who use to work as an in home aid caregiver. I have worked for two years in a chiropractic office working with older people. I enjoy being with people and learning from them and being able to help them to live their lives to the best of their abilities. That is what I love about care giving. It is not just a job but a way of connecting to other people and being able to help them and do it for a living. I am proud of being able to raise my daughters because I have been a single parent for the majority of their lives. I obtained my Associates degree while raising them and I am twenty four hours away from receiving my Bachelors degree in Christian Counseling and Caregiving and my daughters are my reason for continuing to get better as a person.
I had a wonderful experience as a child with awesome grandparents. As I got older and became an adult I cared for each of them at some point. I enjoy listening to their life lessons and respect them for their sacrifices. I have alot of experience with Alzheimers and can listen to the same stories & questions over & over. I like being able to make their day, wether it be reading to them or stopping by Krispy Kreme and bringing them their favorite doughnut. My proudest moment was when I was a caregiver for a stubborn, hard to get along with kind of gentleman. One day his daughter asked him why he loved Wendy so much? And he replied, "because she loves me and doesn't have too." I am happily married to my high school sweetheart of 30 years. We have 2 adult children and 1 grandaughter. I was a stay at home / homeschooling mom for 20 years. We are enjoying our empty nest. I am just happy with life.
I am a married mother of two, a 7 year old daughter & a 4 year old son. I went to college and received my Associates Degree in Nursing graduating in 2007. I have always been a very outgoing, compassionate natural nurturer. I have taken care of many family members while recovering from surgery, stroke, heart attack, cancer and even those that were terminally ill and cared for them up until their passing. I also worked in a nursing home for several months while attending college, the hours did not work with my schedule at the time, so I found a retail banking job while in school. I am currently not in the medical field and changed my career in 2008, and have been with the same employer since. I enjoy taking care of others and learning from someone else. While I worked in the nursing home, I became close with several of the residents and their families because I genuinely cared for them. I would often go by when it wasn't my shift and even after I had left the nursing home for employment. Although I get to do plenty of caregiving at home with my children, I miss working with the elderly and learning so much about our history and how things used to be. I am looking to do something I love while earning extra income for my family. I am available on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 7 or during the day on Saturday & Sunday.
I am a great caregiver because I take pride in ny work. I treat my clients as if they are my own when providing care and treatment. I chose to become a caregiver because I have a passion and desire to help and give back to others. Some of my personality traits that make me a great worker are having a lot of patience, knowing how to be kind and gentle, and knowing how to enpathize with my clients throughout their disease process. When providing care, I don't look at it as job. I actually enjoy my field of work and aim to better the quality of life. A personal achievement I am proud of is earning my RN degree and leaving a lasting impression on my clients. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is building a trusting and loving relationships with my clients so that they can depend on me in their time of need.
Greetings, My name is Olivia and my passion is to create safe spaces where individuals and their loved ones can find comfort, healing, and peaceful rest through care giving and housekeeping. Originally from Vanceboro, NC, I came to Greensboro in 2012 to major in biology. I wanted to find a way to cure the negative emotions that seemed to have become a normal part of our society like loneliness, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and hopelessness. After four long years of interdisciplinary research, domestic and abroad, I still could not find a way to ease the pain of my loved ones or myself. I decided a career change was necessary so I became a CNA and Medication Aide. What I learned during my two years experience in assisted living communities was that the best way to ease the pain of my residents was through acts of love. Also realizing that I had to love myself, I left an abusive relationship and went to my grandmother's to heal. She also suffered from chronic pain and anxiety but was my caregiver for three months. She showed me that the most potent acts of love are simple. A smiling face, a gentle word, a soothing touch, good food, clean hygiene, and a cozy environment eased my pain enough so that I could return to Greensboro and continue my journey rejuvenated. Before departing from home, I asked my grandmother how she could care for me so wholly while battling all of her problems so silently. Her reply was that while she was caring for me, she was soothing herself. "In the instabilities of life, we just need someone to care." My grandmother and I believe that care giving is blissful work and that caregivers have the potential to make anyplace feel a bit more like home. If I could aid you or a loved one in caregiver or housekeeping duties, I look forward to hearing from you. All the best, Olivia the Caregiver
I have a passion for providing comfortable care service. Being a caregiver will enable me make an impact on the health of people needing home care, and better improve their chances of recovery. My approach to home care is client-centered. I am very tolerant and able to cater for all kinds of clients. It gives me a deep sense of fulfilment to help bring back smiles and comfort into people's lives, and best of all the ripple effects it has on the family of the client.
I have worked in the health care field for 24 yrs I really enjoy working with older ppl they can teach us a lot .. my personality is caring and empathy and passion ,I like to treat older ppl with dignity and respect , and one day if I need someone I hope that they will be kind as well. Sitting with someone and listening to their stories adds so much to your day ,I guess the one thing that I have overcome is them dying , I don't like death, but I can at least deal with it now , it was a big fear but working in this field it does come .
I am dependable, flexible, reliable, caring and conscientious. I believe each person should be treated with respect, positive encouragement and patience. Each day should be full of fun and a new adventure in the process of living life from day to day because they were created by God and special. I have a love and compassion for the geriatric population and love seeing a smile develop on each of their faces as we work together to make them feel whole and complete. I would like to apply for a job and be able to help seniors in their home. God has given me a special love for the geriatric population. I have 13 years experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist working with them in the skilled nursing facility and continuing care retirement community. I believe people are most happy in their homes where they are secure with their own surroundings.
