After completing my high school, i started taking care of my grand parents and this attracted me to be a caregiver when I came here in the U.S. Since the most people I have been taking care of in this field of caregiving are old, I enjoy most especially socializing with them and learning more from them. my personal achievement I'm proud of is taking good care of people the way i would also like to be taken care of .

Hi my name is VaShanti. I've been considered to be caring, innovative, and passionate. When I was younger I often helped my grandmother with things such as shopping, cleaning, administering her insulin, and cooking due to her physical limitations. Since then I've developed a heart and passion for helping others. Later in life I took on the role as a caregiver/ direct support staff. What I enjoy most about my work is being able to help my clients feel greater beyond their limitations. I want my clients to be comfortable no matter what. With that being said my goal is to prove to my clients' that I am a trustworthy helping hand and that I care. My previous work was with bright spring health where I worked with the mentally ill and physically limited . I built relationships with all of my clients so that I could understand their needs and wants better. I've learned a lot from my clients in return. While being employees with brightspring health I was promoted to DSP Lead and soon later home manager. I am very proud of the work I do and hope to continue to make a positive change within my clients' lives.

I have found that my passion/calling is to care for the elderly and/or individuals, who can't do so for themselves. My heart is overwhelmed with genuine happiness when providing care and/or maintaining a personal relationship with each resident, client, and/or patient. I sincerely love fulfilling my heart's desires & passion by providing care, love, companionship, friendship, and even medical care to individuals; resulting in them having a sense of peace, as they go through life changes and having to deal with situations that may be unfamiliar. I find that doing so & providing the utmost respectful care to each of them, brings forth a growth for even myself, as I continue my education into becoming an RN (later to bridge into Nurse Practitioner). Daily, I am seeking the latest knowledge and skill so hopefully I can improve my care traits daily, to a wider/higher demand of clients. I am most definitely proud of a personal achievement in my life pertaining to my husband (who was diagnosed with late stages of Testicular cancer twice)! After receiving a prognosis of 18 months, I decided to further my education & resources, in hopes to find more options....and I did! After nearly 2 years, he is now in remission & cancer-free! This is not to boast about what I did, but instead the 'determination, drive, & passion', that I was blessed with. I will ALWAYS go above & beyond in providing the best care for clients & their family members! I believe there is always room for growth and in order to do so, you must first humble yourself to what you were called to do, whatever that may be!

What makes me a great caregiver? It is passion for helping people. I first knew that I wanted to care for people when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 18 years old. I took care of my two younger brothers. Since then, I have been caring for people. My heart goes out to those who can't take care of themselves, that is why I do everything in my power to make the ones I care for feel like they exist and to have purpose in life. It makes me feel so good to know that I can make somebody feel so good about him or her self.

I have over 20 years experience in elderly care. I'm married a mother of 2 girls and a grandmother of 2 . I love working with the elderly I have been working in the same place for our 16 years . I have a great work history.

I spent several years taking care of my grandmother. Being the youngest of her first set of grand kids, it was odd that she insisted on living with me. So, of course I obliged. It took me a while to realize why she chose me; she saw something in me that I didn't see initially. Although, as time went on it became harder to care for her, it was also second nature to choose her over everything else. I learned a lot about myself. I wouldn't change that time in my life. I also have professional experience caring for others also. Caring for others has been self rewarding for me.
