Everyone needs help from time to time. I like being that for someone, and hopefully making their day nicer, too. It's the little things that make a bad day better. I am not certified, but I have had multiple jobs as a caretaker, skills coach, and mental health aide. I have experience in most skills requested, and am very comfortable performing all care needs. I am open to expanding my skills, and will put in the extra effort and research needed. Ive had training in most everything listed, including lifting, mobility, CPR, and first aid. Hello, my name is Karen Palmer. I started doing in-home health care in 2010. I knew at an early age that working in the healthcare field was something that I wanted to do. I believe it is my calling from God. Therefore, I put my all into the care I provide for each individual. A few of my personality traits are caring, compassionate, understanding, loyal, and trustworthy. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is both of my parents were CNAs, and as a child, they often took us to visit their job. I can remember sitting there watching the residents and feeling the need to help. It has always been in my heart to help those in need, and I was placed on earth to care for those individuals when needed. The things I enjoy the most about being a caregiver are knowing I did my best to help someone and seeing how thankful they are that I could help. The personal achievements that I am most proud of are returning back to school, receiving a High School Diploma, and graduating from college with an Associate degree. I did something I never thought about doing, and I did it for my children and myself. I couldn't be more proud of myself for setting goals and seeing them through to the end.
