I retired from nursing in Aug 2020, and found out I missed caring for patients. I get enjoyment from taking care of clients, catering to their needs, and helping them to feel better. I presently provide care for 2 clients for a total of 10-15 hrs a week. I would like clients close to home, within 10 mile radius. I am honest, dependable, reliable, and most of all a caring individual. Seeing them feel better about themselves is fulfilling. A patient once asked me how I could wipe a person's buttock and not find it degrading. I told her if it made her feel better that's all I needed to know. That helping people feel better was my pleasure in life.

I have 15 years of experience working with different medical diagnoses and age groups in private home, rehab, and nursing home setting. Providing personal care, companionship, and homemaker services. PERSONAL CARE: Bathing and personal hygiene Dressing and Grooming Medication reminders Assistance with mobility, transfer & range-of-motion exercises Light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, and general cleaning) Repositioning bed-bound clients to help prevent skin breakdown HOMEMAKING AND ERRANDS Meal preparation Light housekeeping Personal laundry Errands and Shopping COMPANION SERVICES: Socialization Safety Supervision My license nursing assistant (LNA), First Aid and CPR, is current. TB test is up to date, and I am vaccinated.

My biggest passion is caring and helping people in need. It is a very fulfilling and important part of my life. When I'm not working, I spend my leisure time kayaking, walking/hiking, reading, being creative and taking care of myself and my home. I'm blessed with strength and good health, patience and understanding, and I believe this is why former caretaking clients always asked for me. I look forward to meeting you!

Active License/Certificates LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) License Medication Certificate, Dementia Certificate, Hospice and Palliative Care Certificate, 5 years of experience working with patients in hospice care - End of Life stage. * What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver. I enjoy interacting and investing time in the clients hobbies and interests. I have given all levels of care, from elderly (including but not limited to Dementia) to disabled, and TBI individuals. I have been a medication technician in several previous postions, as well. * What attracted to you being a caregiver? The diversity of the clientele and the needs they have. I find that I easily connect with the people I work with because I listen and can adapt to each individual and their needs. * What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Spending quality time and making my clients feel as independent as possible. Such as achieving goals, running an errand, making a meal together or even something small. If it makes them smile and helps them that means the world to me because I assisted in making that happen. * What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My children. My greatest achievement is how well they've grown. Helping them become the people they are. Seeing them progress and having them tell me about how they've used what I have taught them to succeed. I like to inform my clients and their families ahead of time: I have colored hair (currently pink and purple), a nose piercing and modest visible tattoos. I'm happy to wear long sleeves and/or a mask if it makes anyone uncomfortable. My pay is definitely flexible. The app would not allow me to leave it blank.
