8/25/25 I am available for home care , but looking for only 4 to 5 hours a week. I want to stay in the Carson City, Minden or Gardnerville area only. I am a Cancer survivor and wanted to give back some that loving and compassionate care that was extended to me. My own mother lived to 93 and we as a family kept her in her home and cared for her needs.

I have been a caregiver for over 8 years, I worked for a Senior Care Center for a little while before moving to South Lake Tahoe in 1989, as a CNA, I had 2 daughters and put my career on hold to raise them. I worked in a medical office for 5 years prior to taking off 3 months to care for my terminally ill sister. It was then that I realized caring for others was my calling. She would take me to work with her and let me help with the residents (mainly just talking with them at that age). Once I got older I tried a few different types of jobs, didn't like them, and then tried caregiving and realized it was the work for me. I love it. I get to build connections with the elderly (who I still enjoy talking to as much as I did as a kid), work in a homely environment, and do things I actually enjoy like cooking and cleaning.
