I am a very self-reliant hardworking 34 year old mother of 3. I am always open to learning new things. My client's satisfaction and happiness means a lot to me, so I try to get to know each other on a personal level so that I will be aware of preferences, like a, and dislikes. I love what I do and I believe that this is a very stressful but yet rewarding career. It is my goal to ensure that I treat all of my clients as if they are one of my loved ones and promise to provide the best care that I can.
What makes me a great caregiver is that I have compassion, I have fellow feeling for people, and if I am helping a child, I think it is my child, I imagine people as sisters, brothers, parents, grandparents, and that makes me feel, and identify how important they are, and how I would feel about someone else looking after my loved one, and how they would want me to interact. It really makes you know empathy. Nobody wants sympathy, but we need empathy. I like to interact when clients need and want interaction, but I also want to respect space, boundaries, and privacy. I do not want to hover. I have a lot of experience in many aspects of caregiving. I can cook well, clean, be a companion, share experiences, I can, and actually love yardwork, I have experience with mild to profound disabilities, dementia, alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis (paralysis) stroke victims, occupational therapy techniques, have used a gait belt, lift, and wheelchair assistance, toileting, female catheter care, bed bound patients, toileting, incontinence, bathing, showering, bed bathing, chores, nutrition, game playing. I could not put my experience in the work section because it kept deleting everytime I got to the second source, so I put most on the first one. I have been caregiving since 1996.
Hello there, My name is Paige. I'm 25 years old and originally from Texas. I'm happily married with four loving children. We moved to Ohio in 2011 so my husband could chase after his dream and become an officer. Once he was done and he got the job I decided I wanted to go back to school. I've been a private caregiver for 3 years now. I have been with the last family for a year and a half now. Prior to the 3 years I cared for my grandmother which inspired me to start nursing school. I'm very experienced with Alzheimer's and dementia patients but I do have experience with other people also. I have lots of great qualities but one that doesn't come in everybody is patience. I however have a lot of patience which is a very important key factor being a caregiver. Working with the same family for this long period has given me the Benefit to build a trusting relationship with my client. I also attend a Alzheimer's support group every month And I get new ideas for the familites to try also. Being someone's companion is my favorite part of being a caregiver. It's more then just cleaning them up or feeding them. Things I like to do with my clients is crochet if they know how to do it. That's a great bonding exercise. I'm a very compassionate person and I treat my clients like they are my family.
I am a very intertwining upbeat positive person. I am loving, compassionate, kind, smart, funny. I am persistent in anything I do. I have always had a strong drawing to the elderly generation I feel they should be celebrated. I love to interact with people that are so called outside of the normal. Those with difficulties. I absolutely cherish the light and love they add to the world. I have a 15yr old son who at age 7 was diagnosed MMRD. Through the love of a mother and father today he is a very high functioning well rounded teen age young man. I must say I am very proud to called Mom by this young man. He has his daily struggles although no where as bad as they predicted it would be.
I have spent over ten plus years as a caregiver; I have cared for the older, babies, toddlers, teenagers, special needs, disabilities and etc it is just something that i enjoy helping other and making sure that I make a difference in the life of others, especially being able to put a smiley on someone face is the best reward ever. And also makes me to be grateful for what I have.
What makes me a great caregiver is my passion to help the elderly. What made me wanna be a caregiver is the fact that I have grandparents and they needed help around the house transportation and not everyone has family to help them and I would love to help do what they can't, I focus on my clients needs as soon as I meet them so I come up with a daily routine and I follow it. I love my job because I make people's day by just been there when they need me or cooking for them cleaning sitting talking whatever my clients need from me I will provide
