Hello, I am Shannon Hawkins. I am 34yrs old and a single mother of two children; ages 11 and 7. I currently care for my mother who is on oxygen. By cooking, cleaning, and running errands. I work out and lift weights. Walking, running, stretching and home workouts as well. I am my families chef. I meal plan for myself and family members. Learned down south cooking from my grandmother and can make peach cobbler and sweet potato pie plus more. I love conversation and hearing about people's life stories. Learned how to play hun rummy from my mother at a young age. Very helpful around the house and love to put furniture together. Very kind and patient. I got my start in elderly care at the young age of 10 years old. My parents built their own beautiful assisted living center when their parents needed that extra attention. They wanted to avoid the long hallways, strong odors, and seemingly lack of care and concern for our elders you often find in nursing homes. Your loved one is not a number among dozens to be dealt with. They are family, and I'm here to aid them in the sunset years of their life with authentic respect and compassion. After a service mission abroad where I volunteered at abused women's shelters, I obtained my license as a CNA and MAT and worked in health care communities in both Idaho and here in Oklahoma where I currently reside. I took a break to have 3 beautiful daughters and am excited to re-enter the workforce and develop connections and offer aid to your elderly again.

HI there. I seem to always remind people of someone else. I smile a LOT. And love conversation BUT... that does not mean I talk a LOT either. Some of my clients are more on the quiet side and I "go" with that. People are interesting. EVERYONE has a story to tell and of course, everyone's story is unique. Sometimes my client and I will go into the kitchen and cook or bake and some clients HATE to be in the kitchen. Do you love to take walks? How about drive around and "see the sights"? Ahhh... how about this--- a great game of Dominos? OK.. you don't like those? No problem. I love crafts... how about taking great pictures? Are you a camera buff? Can you sing? Play a musical instrument? I was a piano and french horn major in college. Well.. maybe you are more of a reader. OH YES! I love to read! One of my favorite hobbies -- love to read especially Reader's Digest or.. how about this one, "This Ole House".. or a gardening book? You love animals? So do I. Maybe you need a haircut. I have cut my client's hair because they can't get out. Just in case you are wondering....... no.... never have done that for a living-was never trained in that profession but just watching others do it and I love to learn new things. Right now, reading a how-to book... on plumbing. So.. is there anything your are interested in learning? Never too old to learn new things.
