I started by taking Family leave from my job as a Bookkeeper, to care for my Father. I thought at that point 5 years ago, hey I would like to do this for a living. Two years later my Father passed away and I lost my job and began caring for my Mother. At that point I decided to go to school and become certified. Received my CNA in 2013. Have been working since then and love what I'm doing. I am caring, dependable, fun, positive and energetic. I am a team player and can also take the lead. I love to cook, bake and juice. Interested in healthy living. Love walking, music, traveling and especially my family!

The reason I became a caregiver was because my grandmother died alone in a nursing home. I have also worked in facilities. I left due to the fact I didn't like the way the clients were treated I couldn't give them enough attention. The reason why I love working in homes with one or two clients at a time is because you get to know them you get to bond with them and they become like family. 80% of my clients I have stayed with till the end and that is because most of my clients are terminal.

Skills & Certifications: ALS, Alzheimer's Disease, Home Health Aide (HHA), Arthritis, Blood Disorders, Cancer Recovery, Cardiovascular Disorders, COPD, Dementia, Depression, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Hearing Disorders, HIV/AIDS, Home Health Care, Hospice Care, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedic Care, Palliative Care, Parkinson's Disease, Post Surgery Recovery, Respiratory Disorders, Renal and Urological Disorders, Skin Disorders, Stroke, Tracheotomy / Ventilation, Vision and Eye Disorders

Since I was a young child I was raised around my elderly family and I loved to help them walk or just do fun things with them. I babysat at the age 9, I just always had that trait in me to take care of others. I took care of my aunt at the age of 17 I had never had training to do any kind of caregiving work but I learned as I went along. For 9 months I cooked for her, I cleaned her wound, drained the bags that were in her incisions, med reminded, bathed her in bed, washed her hair in bed, I changed her in her bed, cut her diabetic toenails and assisted her to and from dr appointments. My aunt suffered from hepatitis C and diabetes. That's how my journey of becoming a caregiver began. I went and took a home health aide class at Castro Valley adult school and got hired at my first company. ComForCare Senior Services in Castro Valley ca. I took break for 7yrs to be a stay at home mommy in 2012 and now I'm ready to get back to work and doing what I love and that's helping others who are in need of help.

I initially became a caregiver when my great grand father came to live with my family when I was sixteen years old. At first it was a family duty but it quickly became a career choice. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love and enjoy helping others. It is a very satisfying as well as gratifying position to hold because you are not just assisting the patient/client with their daily living but you are also helping their families and primary caregivers as well. Taking care of an elderly or disabled family member can be a very overwhelming and stressful experience, so being allowed to help families take a well needed break from their responsibility is a very rewarding position. I began my professional career as a caregiver in 1998. I worked for several clients through the private sector before becoming employed with a home healthcare agency in 2001. During my employment there I quickly became a Senior care associate, which not only allowed me the honor and privilege of caring for patients but I was also a trainer and supervisor of other caregivers. Becoming a training/supervisor is an achievement that I am truly proud of because it proved that I was very good at my job and that I took the position very seriously. I am highly competent and very professional caring and compassionate all of the qualities that every good caregiver should possess.

Skills & Certifications: Skin Disorders, Parkinson's Disease, Home Health Aide (HHA), Arthritis, Depression, Hearing Disorders, Vision and Eye Disorders, Home Health Care, Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, COPD, Respiratory Disorders, Cancer Recovery, Stroke, Cardiovascular Disorders, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Hospice Care, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurological Disorders, Orthopedic Care, Post Surgery Recovery, Renal and Urological Disorders

I was a CNA working at Sutter health Care. I didn't like how I had to take care 10 or 12 patients at a time. I felt that l they didn't get the care and attention they deserve. I quit my job and work as a Caregiver at the private of their home. I like doing this job because is not really a job, is a passion for me to love and care for the elderly. I have raised a good family. I am married with three children. I am very responsible and trustworthy. I have a great Sence of humor.
