My name is Rhoda and I'm from Coralville, Iowa. I am currently a third year psychology major at FAMU and I love working in patient care. I believe that I would be a good fit for any caregiving positions because I have some previous experience such as basic life support training and nurse aide certification. I am currently certified to give first aid, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and use the automated external defibrillator, and I plan to stay certified. I am very passionate about working in the medical field and I have started to take important steps that will familiarize me with this career field. I possess great communication, team-working, and time management skills. I have discipline myself to take initiative, lead by example, and keep a professional bearing. I am willing to work with any and everyone that needs a little extra helping hand.

I am enthusiastic and enjoy working with the elderly. I am a loyal and faithful companion. I was first attracted to caring for the elderly through my grandmother who simply needed someone to understand. I have taken care of my grandmother my mother and many elderly since then. What I enjoy most about caring for the elderly his to give them a reason to smile, laugh and be happy in their own environment and being their own selves. Some of my personal achievements that I am extremely proud of was a dementia patient who no longer enjoyed painting and with my enthusiastic caring she started painting again. Another elderly lady with Alzheimer's who had forgotten that she loved the outdoors and to walk for exercise. We started sitting on her front porch enjoying the birds and butterfly's and walking down the road for exercise. She even challenged me to a race, LOL. Then another was afraid to take the escalator, she was afraid she would fall. With no other way out, I helped her walk right onto it with no trouble. There was a gentleman that had not fed himself in many years, with my encouragement he was eating by himself again with no assistance. These are just a few of the accomplishments with the elderly that I am thankful that I was able to Help with and Witness.

I am very patient and understanding with all people. I feel that making people smile is the greatest gift of all. The elderly have taught me so much throughout my life that this is my way of giving back to them.

Hello my name is Princess Hall. I have been a caregiver for ten years now. I have always had passion for people with disabilities as a young child. In high school I used my down time to help feed,read,and conversate with them. My goal was to make them feel like they could do and be any and everything their hearts desired. That was the beginning of my passion for helping others. When I began working as a caregiver everyone pointed out how great I was and insisted that I further my education.
