I am a recent Bachelors of Science in Health Science graduate working towards pursuing a future career as a Physician Assistant. I have 2 years of patient care experience working with patients in various specialities and settings (e.g., Progressive Critical Cardiovascular, Emergency Department, Orthopedic). I wanted to go into caregiving to gain experience in a different manner outside hospital/clinic settings, taking care of individuals in the comfort of their home and safe space.

I became a caregiver because it fufills my heart, mind , and soul. I get great satisfaction knowing that I can help keep a person safely and comfortably in their home. Meeting new people and their families has given me a lot of knowledge to use for the next job I am fortunate to receive. My years of experience have taught me to have patience and compassion for each person because everybody is different in their own way. I have raised an incredible teenager who is thriving in life. One of the things I am most proud of is that I took care of my mother who was dying of lung cancer. I was the best advocate for her that I could be. I kept her safe and comfortable to live out the last days of her life. I have done a little of everything in the medical field. I have worked in the ER, assisted living, home health and hospice and live in private duty. When I am not working I enjoy reading, camping, and spending time with my family.

I've had the pleasure to care for my grandmother at such a young age when she was diagnosed with diabetes. I decided at that very moment I really enjoy what I'm doing. I have 12 years experience caring for seniors and mentally disabled in their home, hospital, and nursing facility's. I have a wide range of experience from providing companion care to extensive medical care with g-tubes tracheotomy care wound care medication administration assisting with all daily living needs including showers feeding changing and dressing . I enjoy taking care of my residents and love the experiences. My favorite thing about being a caregiver, is the interacting and connection I receive from all my residents, good and bad.
