Caring, I do my best to make sure I can do what makes people happy. I'm a people person and pleaser. Being a care giver makes my heart happy by helping others. I spent 11 years in the military in which I was honorably discharged at the end of 2012. I completed and received an associate degree in art while serving. I continued my education while being unemployed from the time I was released from the military until April of 2013 and earned a bachelor degree in psychology. A week later I began practical nursing school and graduated top of my class a year later and was rewarded the leadership award. I passed my state board and earned my Practical Nursing license with an IV certification. I have since worked as an admission nurse, hospice nurse, agency nurse, floor nurse, managed a long term care facility, and was a day shift manager as well as a day shift unit supervisor. I recently completed my associate's degree in science in nursing and am waiting to sit for boards for my registered nursing license. I am looking to slowly transition from the facility setting into private duty helping people in their home setting.

I enjoy people and find it personally rewarding to help someone that is in need. I like being in a one on one position so I can give individualized attention to who I am caring for. I am a caring and compassionate person , who takes pride in being honest and showing integrity in all areas of my life. I look forward to meeting and helping anyone I am able too.

After a long career in sales and raising four children as a single parent, I have found my calling and find this work very rewarding. Passion and patience are essential to a good caregiver. I enjoy helping people and try to bring joy to anyone I am with. I always keep in mind that how I treat a client is how I would want my own family member to be treated. I have a good sense of humor and empathy and give my all to each and every client. I have 7 years experience working as a caregiver both in home and in assisted living and memory care facilities. Many of my clients have been diagnosed with dementia but I have worked with clients in various stages of health situations. A personal achievement and fond memory of mine was taking a client who wanted to go to Branson, Mo with the permission of her family for 3 nights to see some shows and go to Silver Dollar City. She never stopped talking about that trip and what a wonderful time she had. She passed away shortly after that.

Even though it is a job I see it as an opportunity to learn new things, and gain new perspectives on life. I worked for comprehensive health care, and have loved it sense. My mother is a CNA and works in home health care, she helped me get into this line of work. I was afraid at first but I began to truly enjoy helping others, I love hearing their story's and giving them companionship. Recently, one lady I was taking care of passed away and you never know how much of an impact they have on you until that happens. It really opened up my mind and heart working with the elderly, I personally am proud of just being able to make people happy.
