I became a CNA in 1997 when my aunt was in a nursing home. I saw all the folks that needed love and care and thought I would give it a try. Well 2014 I am still a caregiver and can not imagine doing anything else. I have worked in Long Term Care, Home Health Agencies , Group Homes and private duty. My favorite being private duty with one on one care. I love helping people with their everyday needs and try to put some spice in their life by taking them out or offering fun activities in the home. I am willing to travel away from home, currently all my clients are in Centre County.

As an MSW student, caring for others is my passion. The Lord has blessed me with the gift of compassion and empathy. For these reasons I am considered a friend by my clients and a source of real help and understanding by their families. As an adult, a grandmother, in fact, I have a real understanding of life's trials and tribulations. furthermore, this understanding, and knowledge of the need for mentoring, care, and support in all of life's challenges prompted me to pursue an advanced degree at this stage in my life. I am quite proud of my last years in school. There is nothing like conversing and debating with young people about life's issues. We all learned a lot from those conversations and it made me feel like I truly had input into their lives and the way that they think about life's circumstances. Of course, I learned too. I love helping people. I have experience mostly taking care of multiple children and disabled children. I do have experience in the clinical setting taking care of adults and elderly. I am a very compassionate person and have experience providing medical care along with assistive care. I just graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Biobehavioral Health, which I am very proud of. The information learned in the major is a combination of biology, psychology and statistics. This degree has educated and prepared me for a range of jobs in the healthcare field.

I have been an active CNA for over 20 years. Current CNA certificate, CPR certified, including Alzheimer's experience and training, current TB and Crimminal Background check. Most of my experience has been geriatric/nursing homes, however, I have home care experience hospice experience and experience with patiens who have trachs and vents in a subacute facility and home.
