I am a retired Recreation Therapist with my Master degree and 37 years of paid experience working with seniors. I have much training working with Alzheimer’s dementia. I live locally, am very kind and patient, am reliable, honest, dependable and am hard working. I can provide many activities to increase their quality of life; I also have 4 years of experience working in their home, as I am also a Certified Home Health Aide; I assist them with ADL skills, assisting them getting out of bed, getting washed, getting dressed, toiletting, eating, doing light house work, cooking, driving to appts and dispense medications. Hello My name is Traci, I have been a CNA at Union Country Nursing Home in Blairsville Ga, however when I went into private care I did not reup my license in Ga because I had taken a job in Florida, I have ran a home for 12 ppl with special needs and have been a live in aid for 2 woman, who have since passed, I now care for 2 ppl and can help in all areas of activities for daily living, transfers to and from bed, in and out of car, meal prep, meditation reminders, escorts to doctor appointments

Just a single mom of two raising them on my own and trying to make ends mert! I like helping people, it makes you feel good, useful, like you're doing good work. I wanted to teach preschool, thats what I was taking classes for in school, but life had other plans, and so I started an in-home childcare business instead and I did that for over 20 years. Ive been a delivery driver for the last few years and last year I started working for Papa Pals as an in-home care companion. Ive always loved elderly people, and a few of my regulars from up north(in IL/WI- where I moved from) became kinda surrogate grannys for me, since I lost mine in 2012 & havent been the same since.

I worked with the Visiting Angels Caregiver & Home health group out of Knoxville, Tn for about 2 years as a caregiver. I also helped to care for my mother, father, a sister, a brother, an aunt, an uncle, my husband, and my son. I am retired, but I still enjoy working part time as a caregiver. My current job does not say much about who I am as a person or a caregiver. Before starting in factory work I worked in a nursing home for 4 years. After the nursing home I worked in assisted living for a year. I gave my heart to those jobs. I loved ever minute of being with the elderly. I started by waking them up and taking them to the toilet. Then I would help them get dressed or dress the ones who were unable. I would then assist with normal morning hygiene care. I would take them to dine with others in the dinning hall and then I would feed the ones who could not go. I would do daily excersizes with the residents and give baths when it came time. After breakfast some would take naps, watch tv or do other things. After my rounds of helping to use the bathroom I would visit with some that I didn't get to spend so much time with because of our morning rush to eat. So many of those people whom I took care of couldn't remember some of their own family, but they knew when they seen me coming everyday and they were so happy at times. At the end of the day helping others comes naturally. My gratitude I get from being a caregiver is just making someone smile. If I can make them smile then I must be doing something well.
