My personality traits would be nice, outgoing , OCD /very clean, everything has a place so very organized, patience with elderly and children. I was a caregiver before and I loved helping the elderly it makes my heart happy and makes me feel good. I did take care of a elderly man for 4 years till he passed and that experience I had with him was the best he filled my heart with so much fun, joy. He was a stubborn man and after a few times to clean his house and bring him lunch, he loved me and I loved him , he always wanted me to stay and talk. I would love being a caregiver again to help loved ones who can no longer help them self and the family members know they are being well taken care of. I am a proud mother of twin boys and they make me the happiest person in the world ,I would say my biggest achievement to be proud of is anything I set my mind to I will accomplish and achieve with flying colors.

I have been a caregiver for the last six years due to an accident my daughters were in. My oldest was left a T10 spinal cord injury and I have spent this time making her independent. This accident has totally changed my life. It humbled me as a person and showed me not only the part of the medical field I thrive in but also showed me what I am good at. I find great reward in watching the things my daughter is now doing compared to what she was doing at the time of her accident...I know this is because of the hard work and determination I had as soon as they told me her injuries. I love going home at night knowing I made a difference in a life. The achievements I am proud of are graduating from the Scrub Technician certification program at Paris Junior College. Even though I do not work in that field I do work in a place that I get to make a difference. I am a hard worker and very reliable. I take my work serious and will always strive to be the best.

I became a caregiver because my sister was diagnosed with cancer in August 2009. After a successful military career as a Master Aircraft Maintenance Scheduler and a Maximum Security Corrections Officer in Wyoming, my entire world shifted...I became aware of her need for full-time care and assisted her with activities of daily living. I found the work challenging, gratifying, and interesting. When I relocated to Texas, I began working for a home health agency in Tyler, TX where I provided care for clients for over 4 years. I have pride in always meeting the clients needs and developing a healthy, professional relationship with them that enables me to provide needed care while preserving their dignity and independence. My fondest memory during my caregiver experiences was working with a young man with end-stage AIDS. His emotional need to maintain some elements of control while surrendering so much physical control due to the trajectory of his illness was a unique challenge. Because music was so important to him and represented an emotional outlet, I was able to use this mutual link to keep him engaged and motivated until his death. Where friends and family were unable to reach him on a personal level, I helped them and him to reconnect through this basic experience. I enjoy being a Caregiver because it allows me to see the best in people at the worst times in their lives...it just takes patience, professionalism, and understanding.
