I care a lot about the elderly. I first started out in this profession helping my father after my mother passed away. He was 75 and needed help with meals and cleaning the home, plus driving him to appointments. I also took care of my dad's sister, after her husband passed away. Helped with meals, took her to any appointments she had and helped with any cleaning around her home. She was 80 at the time and really needed my help. I've also taken care of friend's family members and also a girlfriend of my sisters who had surgery and needed someone with her for 3-4 days post op. It was a great experience doing that and feeling good about helping others. I enjoy the work that I do and look forward to meeting new clients and helping them with getting on with their daily lives. I have been a caregiver for around 10 years and I am very passionate about my job. I am a self employed caregiver and care a lot of my job. I accepts Medicaid and I am state certified for Tennessee. I am bonded and have insurance for my business. All of my clients grow very attached to me because I am open and approachable. I give the first day for free to see if this is a good fit for the client and then if the family signs me on I will give a 20% discount the 1st week of care. I have been a caregiver my entire life. I took care of my sister who is mentally and physically handicapped from the age of 5 years old, until i went to college. She has spina bifida, hydrocepholas, a shunt, and other health issues/ conditions. I can help transfer to and from a wheel chair, Cath, change diapers, dress, bath, anything! I have also been a caregiver to my dying grandparents and an 87 year old woman with parkinsons and dementia. She suffered from incontinence, mood swings, aggression, and anger issues. There's not much i can't handle. I've also worked with special needs people a lot, examples down syndrome, autism, MS, and other physical and mentally handicaps.
