I have been working in the medical field as a Certified Restorative nurse Aide for over 20 years. I enjoy taking care of those who struggle with daily life skills. I've worked with Patients who deal with alzheimer's disease, depression, psychological or mental health problems. I was trained to obtain my Psychiatric Nurse Aide certification as an employee for Vernon state hospital, also Abilene state Supported living Center. I believe that With the yrs of experience I obtain i am more than qualified to do this job.

I decided to become a caregiver, mainly, because I had worked in so many jobs and careers where I had been laid off or the company went out of business. I had a friend that was in the industry and informed me that in the healthcare business you will practically always have a job. Honestly, I sincerely wish that I would have gotten into the industry right out of high school some twenty five years ago. Little did I know that I would come to absolutely love the job and the position. The thing I like most is meet the variance of people and building the relationships with someone I otherwise would never have had the opportunity of meeting. As a caregiver you have to understand that in this business many of the people we come in contact with eventually move on to the next life, but I cherish those moments and like to believe that I had a small hand in making the process and transition a bit more comfortable not only for the person but for the family as well. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is probably just the fact that I have been able to just go to work with a smile on my face and it not feel like a job or a task. I can go to sleep and feel that I did something productive with my time and made somewhat of a difference in some ones life each and every day; whether it was assisting them, just acknowledging the in some way, or just bringing a smile to their face. I've been in home health for last 15 yrs. I've done state facilities also working with individuals with developmental disabilities. I was a certified medication aid. I worked with g tubes. I've done pediatric home health. I went to Wyoming to take care of my mother before she passed. I took a CNA class while I was there. Was not able to go in front of nursing board because COVID hit and I was let go from my job cause I was working prn . So they wouldn't pay to let me get my certification. I've been out of work for past two years due to getting my personal life situated and being a stay at home mom which I'm not very good at . So I said I needed a job and started applying. I enjoy this line of work because flexible scheduling. And I enjoy taking care of people. I don't like the fact that I get too attached.. they become like family. And when they pass it's hard on me . But to know I made a difference in someone life. That's the reward.

I am very caring and devote ed to the client and try to be as helpful to family as possible knowing the hardship they are facing. I started wanting to be a caregiver when I saw how much mother inlaws care giver ment to her . I wanted to make some one know that there was someone that would always be there for them. I was most thankful for the experience of caring for a client and his wife until the death of both 2 months apart and being there for them until the end so they weren't alone .I love being a caregiver because it makes me feel needed.
