Hi, my name is Savannah. I worked for about 2 years as a home health aid and I've worked in nursing homes. I strive to give the best care I can to all elderly or otherwise patients. I'm a great cook, so preparing meals is something I enjoy doing. I also love making sure my patients can move safely from bed to a chair or any other. I'm very good with animals so I can as well help care for pets, clean and make sure my patients are taking the proper medication at the right times. I've always loved caring for someone, as I am a mother of 3 beautiful children.

I bring forms to list medications and when they are given, medical conditions, a form to record vitals, blood glucose, food and fluid intake or output, etc and a schedule to list and organize household duties. I also bring a journal in which I record each day. I am passionate about the work that I do. I am outgoing and pleasant by nature, and very organized. I am familiar with a good deal of the medical conditions that come with age. I am also familiar with the many medications that treat these conditions. I believe that my knowledge makes me a better, more understanding, and compassionate caregiver. I believe that aging at home is an excellent alternative to care in a facility. A great caregiver can make that possible. I know that to be a great caregiver I have to be caring, compassionate, intuitive, and motivated to ease the burdens of physical and mental decline. I have to adjust my behavior to suit the personality and preferences of the person in my care. I also have to be accountable, as my care can make the difference between a client suffering quietly or happily thriving. I continually strive for excellence in the hope that my care will make a difference.

I am a talkative person. I can have a conversation about anything, with anyone. I'm very well mannered. I'm organized and like to clean. I always set reminders or alarms, so I don't miss something or late to something. I have always enjoyed being able to help someone in some way. My dad did Home HEMO-Dialysis treatments for 4 and a half years, I learned the machine and how to cannulate through a 6 week course. I will forever hold pride knowing that I took part in saving my dad's life. That's my proudest achievement. So, I figured if I enjoyed taking care of my dad so much, I would love to be able to help others as well.

I'm a loving and caring person. I enjoy assisting individuals with daily activities in which they are unable to do. I enjoy being a companion to the elderly that are in need of companionship. A personal achievement of mine is being here to assist individuals in need.

What makes me a great caregiver is being able to meet my client’s needs. I became a caregiver approximately 13 years ago. I love being a caregiver because what someone else can’t do for themselves I can do for them from within my heart. And being able to have strength and knowledge to bless others in need of care. I am proud of the Christian woman God has called me to be.

I love caring for people, I started working in a nursing home in 2004, I loved my patients but I wanted more time to spend with them and spending one on one time with my clients made them so happy. just to sit and listen to a story they want to tell or reminisce about or just to go for a drive to get them out pf the house. So I began doing home health services, to follow my dream of being a caretaker. I am reliable, I am on time, I am responsible, and I am very observant about my patients health emotional and physical well being .

I have always enjoyed taking care of others. I had a home daycare for 16 years, registered with the state of Texas. I have worked off and on for several years doing home health with agencies ad well as private families. I have also worked at the Mexia State School. Now, I work at the local highschool as a paraeducation aide in the life skills class. At all of these jobs I have worked with both well individuals and individuals with mental and or physical handicaps. For the last 3 years I have been the caregiver for my grandma who suffers from dementia.

I became a caregiver when i realized there will always be someone who needs a little help. I like that a caregiver can give a person the comfort of staying in their home, can continue to let them have their independence.
