What makes me a great caregiver is that I feel very confident in what I do! It's my personal passion. I became a caregiver because at the age of 12, my mom had cancer and I took it upon myself to care for her until she passed. I love caregiving because it's very rewarding and I learn lots of wisdom and knowledge from the elders. My greatest personal achievement is with my patient, whom I cared for 6 yrs, he had Parkinson's and was unable to walk! I was able in the first yr to have him up and out of bed walking again! We even after that started going to the gym to keep him mobile!

Finding out their likes and dislikes and being able to take care of them in a compassionate manner, talking with them and listening to them has afforded me joy in learning about them and letting them know they still have so much value to the world. My wife has suffered 3 strokes in the past 3 years, along with other medical issues that have caused me to take care of her. I have had to perform helping her with bathing, dressing, feeding, changing, exercising and taking her to rehab and doctors on daily basis but I have done it with no complaints.. My passion is caring for others..
