My name is Veronica,I have been a care gave for over fifteen years,I came from Kenya and in Kenya I was an Agricultural officer, working in a Research Station, doing research on new varieties of new seeds.Besides being an officer in a Research Station,I used to visit seniors in their homes,I loved to cook for them ,wash clothes give them company and also give them my own food,which made me very happy and I felt sense of fulfliment ,when I put a smile on their face.So when I came to this country,I found that there are seniors as well,I felt this was my define calling.and I went for it,I enjoy alot when I make a difference in someone's life,I.like to work and help those who cannot be able to help themselves any more,I do this work in great love and compassion and a touch of faith.

I am an honest person, patient, I am keen to details, I am open to experience, I am empathetic, I am compassionate thus the reason as to why I chose to be a caregiver and since I have an experience rooted back in childhood whereby I was taking care of my grandparents up until they passed on when I was at the age of 22 years old. I will proudly say that I'm a patient gentleman and Patience is a great way to derive success in many aspects of life. Having in mind that caregiving can be challenging sometimes, I derived success in caregiving by exercising patients and kindness towards my clients. I started caregiving by taking care of my own mother, when I saw how happy she feels by having me around, I felt blessed doing it and when she passed, I extended the same compassion to others. I really enjoy it when I notice that I have made a positive impact on the life of my client; I can remember being called God sent by the wife of one of my clients; the gentleman returned home after spending months at the hospital and rehab, he lost his ability to walk and speak. after I was called in as a caregiver, he regained his mobility and speech because we had to engage with him not just as a client but as a loved one...

I am a licensed CNA with over 17 year's experience as both an hourly and an in-home 24 hour caregiver. I have many year's experience in other related healthcare fields as well and am also a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have Nurse Delegation certification, BLS/HCP CPR and First Aid cards, as well as Mental Health certification. The last 2 1/2 years I've worked with predominantly one client providing care for all the activities of daily living (including transportation) and companionship as well as acting as a healthcare advocate. I've also spent 4 years with an Alzheimer's client providing in home care including physical therapy assistance and hospice. I have provided care for clients with multiple health concerns including hypertension, stenosis, heart disease, depression, paralysis, digestive disorders, and cancer. I also worked during my training in a nursing home. As a side note, I have learned tremendously for 5 years the many aspects of case management acting as a POA and Healthcare Representative/Advocate/Case Manager for a family member and other clients so am able to provide those kind of services as well if needed. I previously worked as a Veterinary Technician for 16 years and in a prior position provided at home medical care for my client's pet as well. I can also provide Clerical Support as in prior positions I reviewed/maintained medical and other records, facility admission/release forms and contracts, mental health assessments, legal documents, and auto and homeowner's insurance policies.
