I've unofficially been a caregiver for over 20 years however, when my mother fell ill in 2014, I decided to pursue schooling for her. I enjoy getting to know people and learning about their lives, and being able to help them. I am most proud of being able to be my mothers caretaker before she passed in 2016.

My Goal is to be professional, learn new concepts and skills to further my career. I'm highly motivated & reliable caregiver. I have over 25 years of experience with the elderly in the home and I like it much better so I can give them the quality time that they deserve. I'm up beat and a little silly to get them motivated and for them to be happy. I like to sing with my clients and sometimes even do art or crafts, just anything to keep them busy.

I am a outgoing person who's hard working and dedicated to each and every task I begin. I work with my full potential each and every day. And I can adjust to my environment easily. Watching my grandfather take care of my great grandmother and actually helping him since I was younger was always the highlight of staying at my grandparents. Just watching and helping her with things she needed so she wouldn't have to leave the comfort of her own home or love from her family filled my heart with joy. I enjoy just helping. Knowing their is a need for me whether it's to watch TV with a client or helping them take a shower. It's the little things that count. A personal achievement I am proud of is not giving up for me or my daughter after all the hardships and family losses I encountered this past year.

I am a 24 years old student/ worker dedicated to providing the best care to my patients. I have been in the health care industry for since 2014. Previously, I have worked in an assisted living facility, hospice, rehab facility, private care, and nursing home. I have devoted my first working years to proving care to those that need it and making sure that I am of the best help to them. It is always my pleasure to do everything I can to make sure my patient's wants and needs are met before my own. I enjoy being of help to others. Currently I work as a medtech at an ALF facility (full time), I can always work around my schedule to help other families out during my off days.

I became a caregiver to be able to help those that where in difficult situations become more self sufficient with my assistance. I enjoy providing clients and families with the emotional and physical support that he or she may need and doing what it takes to motivate my clients well being. My biggest challenge was a client that was not from this country nor had beliefs in our medical practices, yet the son did not want to see his mother pass away. After being introduced to situation, I tried several things to help this son have his mother eat or drink, because she was dehydrating at rapid speeds, it was to no avail. She refused everything we tried and became extremely violent when we tried to force liquids into her. After several conversations with the son and due to their religion, I was asked to talk with their high priest to see if he would approve the family to tube-feeding. After several conversations, I was able to convince the priest and family that this was the only way I could think of to have her regain her weight and become stronger, so that we could continue other care with her. The tube was put in for feeding and after three months, the mother had gained 14 pounds and was able to shift herself more in bed. I take my job seriously and try my best to think outside of the box for the benefits of my clients and families. I see each one as an individual and get total satisfaction knowing that I can achieve the goals set for me by each family member o

My name is Antonia and I have worked in this field for many years, I have experience with many types of illness that unfortunately restrict mobility or limits mental capacity such as Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Spinal Cord injuries just to name a few.
