I took care of my sick mother until she passed away. Later, a friend introduced me to the field of caregiving. Though I had formerly been a school teacher, caregiving fit like a glove. A client once asked me why I chose this profession, and I told her that I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I offer personal care, housekeeping services, and companionship. When my client was dying, I held her hand the entire time, not knowing that the daughter had entered the room and observed my action. After her death I received a note from the daughter describing how she had been touched by my action. As a former teacher, I am punctual, compassionate, empathetic, and sentimental; I laugh and cry with my clients. My current job involves caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. I have recently been providing a client with personal hygiene in the morning through CareLinx.

I have always felt a calling and a passion for caregiving. I have over 15 years of experience providing compassionate care in Skilled and private homecare settings. I am a single mother and student at UMGC. Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Gerontology and Aging Services and a minor in Psychology, and proudly graduating in December of 2024! From there, I plan to work towards a master's degree in Occupational Therapy. I love making a different in the lives of others.after taking care of my grand mother i developed the ability to care for people in need.When I came to the state in 1985 this was the job I acquired and I have being doing it ever since.I had worked in the nursing home setting,,hospital, and private homes. I have a positive impact on my client I smile a lot I'm open to communicate with my client, listened to there concern encouraged them making decisions if the can and to involve them in there care plan.i give ADL care, good hygiene,,cooked, do laundry, serve there meal but if client needs assistance with feeding I will do it. I do client shopping, take client out for recreation, make drs' appointment and take them to there appointment, medications remainder,or administered medications, reports any concerns to family member who is POA.It rewarding when you see your client condition is improving.Care giver job is rewording when you bond with your client and the built trust in you.

I am a 54 years old from Banjul the Gambia W/Africa I came to the US since 1992 with my family,then in 1993 I started as a .HHA and then become as a CNA in 1994 I like to help people that's what makes be join the home care field I am license and certified I worked with Alzheimer's, Dementia and Hospice patients .

I have been doing in-home care for 8 years. I love it. I love being able to help the elderly and allowing them to trust me in assisting them with daily living. I have done private duty cases and in home care for agencies. I have excellent references. I am a CNA/GNA and a Med Tech. I am CPR and first aid certified. I have experience with all aspects of the elderly and have also have hospice cases and disabled individuals. We can discuss this experiences further into detail.

I love to help people! What interested me in becoming a caregiver, was I originally worked with children and thought to myself, why not help people of all ages? I fell in love with it! What I enjoy, is being able to take a little bit of stress off of their shoulders by assisting them with whatever they need. It really makes me feel good and it's a really rewarding job

I feed ,bath,dress and take care of them. Take them for a walk, remind them to take their medication and make sure they are not in danger and also i look after them.Take them to the bathroom and make sure to keep their company.
