Being a caregiver for the past forty years has given me countless opportunities to help a variety of people. I have dealt with many different situations and illnesses in all age groups. I am a compassionate and patient individual. Nursing is my career. I started in 1978 as a certified nursing assistant and went on to graduate in 1995 as an LPN. My specialty is geriatrics mostly in skilled nursing facilities. Presently I work private care only. I much rather prefer to focus on individual care now. Having taken care of both of my parents at home and having years of nursing background, I am more than qualified to take care of your loved one. I will provide a relaxing, stimulating environment where they will feel safe. All the while making sure their daily needs are met. Providing nutrious meals and snacks is also important. I have specialized knowledge of Altzeimers and dementia. I have no problem giving insulin shots or morphine as I worked in hospice care. I am single with my son grown up. I have a very flexible schedule yet do make time for myself. I keep Sundays free for church and family. I prefer to work day hours, but will work some evenings if needed. I can only help your loved one if they are able to be mobile as I have a lifting restriction. I can assist someone in and out and up and down, but not if I have to lift. I am very loving and compassionate when it comes to caring for a person. I grew in a big family and as the older sibling/cousin I was always in charge for caring and taking care of the younger ones. Eventually as I got older made my own little family my daughters grandmother ended gradually showing signs of dementia and I stepped in and became her first caregiver. So for me this touches home cause I've experienced it with someone I loved dearly and it broke my heart to see her slowly forgetting the ones around her. I loved that I was able to show her love, kindness and happiness until she no longer remembered anything anymore. I am very proud of how many people I have been able to keep in good spirits the last 10 years.

I'm very friendly and caring, I have done in home care for about 3 years total and then worked as a medical assistant since 2018. I'm currently going to school for respiratory therapy I have 1.5 years left this is why I choose to go back to home care as the schedule for school doesn't allow me to work a normal 9-5 but this also allows me to get back to doing what I love the one on one care with a client.

Have been a compassionate self starting caregiver for 12 years traveling within a 40 Mile radius of my home a good friend helped me to get started with helping seniors in their homes it gives me great pleasure to help seniors in need by just being a good listener and companionship and performing all activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, toileting, dressing, meal preparation no, light housekeeping, running errands, medication reminders as well as medication management, transportation to appointments, am very familiar with using a Hoyer lift, safety belt, sliding board and other devices for transferring I take my job very seriously and consider it to be a blessing to assist seniors and enable them to maintain a dignified life style

I think it's because I use to take care of my grandmother, and although she passed a long time ago, I still enjoy taking care of elderly people.

I like helping people and I make it a point to listen to the needs of my individuals and help them be independent as much as I am their to assist them. I became a caregiver because I genuinely love helping people. And the thing I enjoy most is seeing my individuals happy
