Throughout my adult life, nurturing and caring for others is something that has been very natural for me. I have had the great privilege of being a mother and raising 5 children and now the grandmother of 5 beautiful little ones. I've seen the need for more trustworthy, quality Caregivers and strive to be one of them. My desire is to improve quality of life and bring a sense of calm assurance and safety to others when their world has been shaken. I am level headed, practical minded and compassionate. In my experience, kind sensitivity can be healing in many ways. I've been afforded life experience in caring for my husband after surviving a plane crash and learning to walk again. A year later, our 8 year old son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I've learned a great deal through navigating the challenges of these life altering experiences. Both husband and son are healthy and well today. I've also had the opportunity to be a caregiver for local clients as well as my own mother after colon cancer surgery and assisting my brother in difficulties regarding Parkinson's. I've wanted to be a caregiver since I helped my mom through her illness and realized I could keep a cool head through tough times and feel rewarded when I know I have really helped someone and made the best out of whatever situation we (the person I am caring for and myself) are faced with. I really enjoy spending time with the elderly because I feel they deserve the most respect and have so much to teach and share. I feel proud that recently my own Dad had a serious illness and I know that through my daily care I and the amazing nurses and doctors were able to pull him through and he's now on the mend. I'm educated and worked as a nurse for 10 years, I have four older children and I have helped take care of my nephew with Autism. I use to watch children in my home and took care of my dad, who had a stroke and recently passed. I was also taking care of my mom full time, who has Alzheimer's, but now she is in memory care.
