I have worked in the health field for 45 years. I have a passion for caring for the elderly. I started out in high school as a Red Cross Volunteer at a local Nursing Home. I owned and operated my own Veterans Foster Home out of my Old Victorian 5 bed/4 bath Home on the Arkansas River in Colorado for 8 yrs.
I have been a nurse for 10 years. I am currently working in an administrative position within a doctor's office. I love my job but I miss being a "hands-on" nurse. I began my career as a nurse aid in an assisted living facility and I immediately knew that I had found my calling. I have a true passion for helping others. Providing hands-on assistance is rewarding, but getting to know my clients and work to improve their situation or outlook is what I strive to do. Whether it's through preparing meals, cleaning house, assisting with bathing and grooming, running errands, or just spending time bonding with my client I strive to make my visit something that they look forward to. Those that know me say that I have a servant's heart. I spend my time at my full time job looking for ways to improve care. I spend my time off with my family or volunteering/ fundraising for nonprofits. I pride myself on my love for others and treat everyone as if they are my family.
I am a hard-working, attentive, compassionate, and conscientious caregiver, and have found helping seniors to be very rewarding. I was privileged to work for a family for the past 8+ years, providing care and support to my employer's wife as she battled Alzheimer's Disease. I provided supervision and companionship, assisted with all ADL's and as the disease advanced, provided end of life care when she became bedridden. It was a very slow, sad journey for her (and her family and caregivers), but I consider myself blessed to have been a part of her caregiving team!
I care for others as if they are my own family. My way of thinking is treat them as I'd want someone caring for my grandparent/parent to be treated. I became a caregiver after watching my grandfather being cared for. I love being a caregiver. Since childhood I wanted to be a nurse but since becoming an stna I prefer the one on one vs just giving them their medication. I completed my two year medical assistant degree.
Passionate about quality and caring home care for those in need and desiring to remain in familiar surroundings during their golden years. I currently care for two patients. One with physical and neurological disorders and the other a post surgical care patient. These positions will be ending soon. My start date with a new client is flexible. I am an avid amateur chef. My interests include first and foremost family, then genealogy, history, reading, writing short stories, journaling, gardening and non-political current events. I cared for my mother in home during the last six of her 94 years. She suffered with dementia, diabetes (insulin dependent), arthritis, incontinence and mobility issues. She wanted to spend her last days in her own home for which I am very thankful I was able to be instrumental in granting her wish. I have spent 30+ years, off and on, in the health care industry in positions of nurse aide and home health care aide. I value life and respect end of life wishes. I hope that as I age that I will be have the respect, care, empathy and loving commitment to my care as I provide to my patients.

Hello! My name is Miriam Miller and I am a 23 year old student who would absolutely love to support you and your family in caring for your loved one. My first experience as a caregiver was for my own mother who battled stage three bladder cancer. I was her main caregiver; preparing food for her, taking her to the restroom, managing her meds, taking her to doctors appointments and keeping her in good spirits. I also served as a in home caregiver for a woman in her 70's in Washington state. I prepared all of meals, did her laundry, her gardening, all transport as well as assisting her in downsizing all of her belongings. I now work in a memory care facility providing services to elderly on the dementia and alzheimer's spectrum. I am currently working on pursuing a nursing degree and would love to partner with you and your family in providing quality care for your differently abled loved one. Thank you for taking the time to pursue my profile! I look forward to talking with you further about your families needs and desires.
I became a Caregiver because I believe that everyone has a place in this life where they are needed. Age has nothing to do with how important a role you play in shaping someones life. I love to help others to feel as vibrant and apart of the daily norm as possible, to know that no matter what there circumstance they have something to contribute to life. I am proud of the way my Clients respond to the help given and the wisdom they give in return. I am the mother of 3 children, 2 adults and a 18 year old. I am the grandmother of 5 beautiful children who live in Tennessee. I love all sorts of sports, avid reader, and Minister in my church.
I enjoy caring for seniors and being around to help with everyday task that has become unbearable for them to do. It is my way of giving back and thanking them for all they have done for us. Hurt's me to see our seniors not get the respect they deserve. Am an honest mature adult who is dependable with a good work record. Will be puntual and will do the job I am assigned to do without supervision.
I BECAME A CAREGIVER, TO BRING LOVE AND SMILE TO OTHERS. I AM PROUD OF WHAT I DO AND I LOVE WHAT I DO. I LOVE SEEING THE JOY THAT COMES WITH GIVEN GOOD EXCELLENT CARE. I CARED FOR MY DAD WHO WAS SICK FOR FOUR YEARS BEFORE HIS PASSING, AND IT GIVES ME GREAT JOY, TO SHARE THE SAME COMPASSION WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
I would describe my personality very timid until i get to know then I'm like a sunflower. Expertise that help me be a great caregiver are my compassionateness and my love for elderly, and my good listening ear. What attracted me to become a caregiver was the bond that you develop when working with different clients and the great stories they tell about their past! I enjoy wings caregiver because i simply enjoy helping people. I also enjoy being a caregiver because the connection you develop when getting to know you clients, making one another feel comfortable.
