I've been a caregiver for over 5 years. With such experience, I've learnt that offering assistance to someone who cannot do for themselves has its rewards - it is greatly appreciated from the person being helped and that is great fulfillment for me. I've also chosen to do this because I'm a nursing student with an interest to specialize in geriatrics.

I have 10+ years of experience as a caregiver, I am a hard working, honest, loyal, caring & loving person, very dependable & trustworthy I am very much so a people person. My motivation and ambition to be the best caregiver i can be comes from me taking on the position as a teenager to take care of my mother who suffered from brain damage. What I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is knowing and understanding that we ALL we one day need a helping hand, I believe we are put on this earth to help each other not just in times of need, but when it isn't needed as well and I feel as if this is my calling TO HELP PEOPLE, I look forward to speaking and meeting any family that is in need of a caregiver as we all work together to help ones needs. Best traits that I have in being a great caregiver are Patience. Those who provide home care to others need to be patient. Being patient means that the person understands that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. Compassion, When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness, I think It is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, the caregiver, will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person he or she is caring for. Dependability, I feel as though those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically. Rather it is on a regular basis, so it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. Last but not least Trustworthiness, Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person her or she is caring for. I enjoy doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I take pride in my attention to detail.
I am 22 years old . " Oh My " Yes I am young . I have 1 child . I have been a caregiver off and on for 7 years in between going to school and taking care of my daughter which had some medical issues .
