I am passionate about caring for people. I believe that one should always treat others the way they want to treated, with respect, patience, dignity, and kindness. I enjoy caring for people and loving what you do is most important to being able to give others the best care. Raising my daughter Saturday (11 years old) has shown me everyday what a gift it is to have such love and compassion for others and also having taken care of my elderly parents has been a gift so it is my family that attracts me to the career in caregiving. What I enjoy most about caregiving is knowing that I have made each day more positive and hopefully helped someone to feel better emotionally and physically. A personal achievement I am most proud of is my volunteer work at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital where I was assigned to the Oncology Unit and working just to make the children on that unit love, play, or do artwork taught me how precious life is and how even the smallest kindness matters more than we know.
What makes me a great caregiver is that I' am very passionate about my job. I love working for others, providing the necessary care to improve the quality of life for my clients, I' am very patient, I' am a good listener, I communicate affectively, I' am a quick thinker, problem solver, and very caring. I became a caregiver to help others during a very delicate time. It is not always easy to ask for help, or receive help from anyone. This is what drives me to help others. To help them feel comfortable and cared for. I enjoy making others happy. A personal achievement I' am proud is returning to school part time to receive a social work degree.
I am caring and compassionate caregiver. After working in multiple places I have found my calling as a caregiver. Ive been in this field for 10 years. Seeing the difference that I make in peoples life is very rewarding. After caring for my first client back in 2008 I attended school and earned my CNA License in 2011. Enjoy spending time with client, learning their history and listen to the stories they have to tell is one of my favorite things about my job. Helping in every day activities with dignity and respect is always number one.
Four years ago I retired from nursing. Recently, I moved to Phoenix Arizona to be near family. I have one married daughter in Phoenix where I presently reside, and another married daughter in Peoria. My daughter and son-in-law in Peoria have one daughter and are currently expecting their second child. Prior to moving here, my most recent pertinent work experience was as a homecare non-medical provider to an senior woman in her Kansas home. Though hired as "non-medical care provider" much of my assistance with this woman did revolve around her medical needs as she was an end-stage cancer patient, as well as diabetic. I helped manage her medication schedule, transportation and ensuring she went to medical/doctor appointments. I also monitored her daily health needs such as blood pressure, blood sugars, etc. I would like to care for you or a loved one in your home, and assist you with some of your care needs. I am willing to assist with light housekeeping, meal preparations, exercise/physical therapy programs, transportation and occasional errands or grocery shopping. I enjoy reading, baking, music, walking and spending time outdoors, as well as spending time with my family. I would be delighted to come work for you! --Freida McMahon
I have been a Caregiver/ CNA since 1998. I handle anything you throw my way. I have worked with people in early stages of demenita to the last stages of life ( hospice). I love the work I do because it keeps me humble. Working with people in all diferent stages in life is not for everyone. But I do believe this is my calling. Being a caregiver has also helped me become a better mother to my 5 children. Because without patience and understanding it can all go array. I'm hoping that one day I can take all the skills I have learned over the years and become a great nurse.
