I believe what makes me a great caregiver is my genuine care and compassion for all the people I work with. I have been an official caregiver since July 2016. I have a lot of experience with Alzheimer's/Dementia. I also have experience in clinical settings and with nursing care due to my education to become a nurse and I worked in a convalescent hospital as a student so I know how to change a bed bound client, even by myself, and know how to administer medications if needed and how to perform bed baths and showers for clients. *** due to school I am only available Monday-Friday for day shifts. Tuesday and Thursday not available until after 12pm and Wednesday I have class 12pm-5pm making Wednesday availability limited. I am not available most weekends but if planned ahead of time I can work 2/3 weekends out of the month.
The reason I became a caregiver: I took care of my father as he was dying from kidney cancer. It was just my mother and myself caring for my father plus working a full time job. Very difficult time but we came thru with the help of Hospice. It was a time to reflect on my purpose in life and found this great company that I am currently working for as a caregiver.Unfortunately I moved and need to find employment closer to home. Being there for the family and their love one that needs care. So the family can have some relief and reassurance that their loved one is being cared for so they can continue their daily routine. I am very Nurturing,Caring,Patient,Compassionate,Loyal,Enthusiastic and Understanding.
I have a big heart when it comes to helping the elderly. Developing a bond with my patients is rather important to me because it's a priority of mine to make sure they are as comfortable as possible when I'm on their time. I love this field of work and put my all into the patients I work with. Putting smiles on each others faces day to day and learning a little something about one another is always something I look forward to.
