Hi there! My name is Karly and I am currently a nursing student at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. I have almost 2 years of experience working as a caregiver both in facilities and in home health. After nursing school, I plan on entering the field of geriatric nursing- working as a caregiver has shown me that I have a passion for working with older adults. I am especially good at working with those who have dementia, as I have the most experience with this. Although I love working with older adults, I enjoy working with a variety of clients who have a variety of needs. I have about a year of experience with medical needs such as tube feeds, oxygen, and medication administration- all experience from nursing school. If there is another medical need, I have all the resources to learn about what I need to do to provide the best care and I am a quick learner. Thank you for taking a look at my profile- reach out and I'd be happy to chat! I am happy to provide care in the Boulder area or Frederick area- if you're not in these areas, just ask and we can see if something will work. Also, I have references that I would love to provide you if you're interested (just don't want numbers floating around)! Karly
I choose to become a care giver because I absolutely love helping people. I was working in the food industry and realized that I wanted to take my love for caring for others to the next level. The feeling I receive from taking care of my residence was absolutely amazing, and very rewarding. Knowing that these people need you and want you to help them makes it all very motivating. I am younger, so most people my age are no where near deciding what they want for a career and I've found mine!
I have previous experience in caregiving. At a previous employer I would give assistance to people who are sick, injured, mentally or physically disabled, or the elderly and fragile. I have worked in the home by assisting clients with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, grooming, taking medication, and some housework. I also have helped clients make and keep appointments with doctors, provide or arrange transportation and serve as a companion to my clients. I am very trustworthy and reliable. You can count on me for excellent service.
