I have been in the eldercare industry for 25+ years. I started working in a nursing home when I was 18. I started working in assisted living in 1984. I worked my way up to administrator and managed facilities for many years. I was also a troubleshooter for facilities who were in danger of fines with the state. My passion has always been taking care of the elderly.
I'm compassionate, caring , friendly and most importantly I have lots of patience. I have always wanted to be a nurse/ caregiver, it is my passion and I love doing it. I enjoy the smile on my elderly face and knowing that they are happy comfortable and content with the care they received. I am most proud of one lady I had the pleasure of taking care of, when I first got to her she was depressed and on the verge of giving up on life but I was able to turn that around with just simply caring and just bringing joy fun and love back into her life, I took care of her for almost 2 years the family thought she wasn't going to live too much longer they even admitted her to hospice and when they hired me to care for her they could not believe how happy and healthy she had become.
I'm good at what I do because I love what I do, I take care of other's like I want others to take care of me. I became a CNA so I could take care of other's. I love to cook, bake & just do things for other's. At the end of the day I feel good knowing that I've done everything I can to put a smile on someone's face.
I love to be a caregiver because I am compassionate and caring. I love to help and care for someone who is in need. Caregiver, for me is a rewarding experience because it makes me feel needed. It also makes me feel good because I know that I am making a difference in someone's life. I am making someone smile and that gives me a sense of accomplishment.

#1. I believe being a caregiver has to come from your heart, a trait that your born with wanting to help others feel great about themselves, accomplishing what they are unable to accomplish on their own while assisting or doing for them, having patience, a warm smile or just a simple hello how are you doing /feeling today, respect for them. #2. From as far back as I can remember growing up as a child I have always enjoyed taking care of others, started off by taking care of family members and neighbors. While growing up I traveled to take care of my ill grandfather, grand mother, and only sister, early this year I volunteered and helped my family out with my last living uncle no matter where i had to go or what it took. #3. Seeing my clients smile when they see me coming lets me know that we together are doing something correct, with another day of smiles and laughter a waits use both, cooking, cleaning, going for a walk, to the park, sitting outside, or just relaxing doing whats best for them. having them tell me or direct me to exactly what they need done, family letting me know, providing them and their families with that comfort. #4. After working on a job for 11 1/2 years and still wanting to go back to the 1 passionate job that I've carried in my heart for so long , seems like this is truly all I know is how to take care of other people.
