Approximately 12 years ago, I became my mother's Caregiver after she came home from Rehab for a major stroke. I realized how rewarding it was to feel the satisfaction of really helping someone. In the past 10+ years, I have worked as a Home Health Aide and CNA, providing many services to families and their loved ones, including (but not limited to) Alzheimers, Dementia, Quadriplegic, and Hospice Care. Services provided include companionship, transportation, meals, light housekeeping, pericare, input/output, taking and recording vitals, catheter care, colostomy care, medication reminders, assistance with bathing, showers, getting dressed, and oxygen maintenance. My special focus has been with Alzheimer's and Dementia care. I am a CNA and certified in CPR and First Aid. Your loved ones peace of mind, comfort and health is my priority.
I'm a very open and honest person, and I always do my very best at anything I am tasked with. I look at everything from outside of the box, and I always try to make sure that I listen to concerns, and brainstorm different ideas for obstacles of everyday life. I do have children with different medical conditions, so multitasking, being patient, researching, and keeping calm during stressful situations is a strong point for me. My goal is to make sure that I have completed my work and also make my clients happy. I am certified in First Aid, CPR/AED, Basic Life Support, Bloodborne pathogens. I am also a certified STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide). I have about 6 years or more experience under my belt as a caregiver.

I became a caregiver because I have a nurturing nature. I like being a caregiver because I receive genuine satisfaction from giving my all in assisting someone who is unable to care for themselves. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is out of the 30 plus years I've had in this field, I've never been terminated from a position, and I always receive great recommendations. I am a patient, kind, dependable, compassionate, and responsible person as well as employee. I've been a caregiver for 30 plus years. I've cared for people that needed minimal assistance as well as others who required total care. I've worked with client's in long term and assisted living facilities, as well as private homes. I have experience in Alzheimer/Dementia care. I also have 7 years experience in hospice care including both continuous care and home health aide.
I started giving care at a younger age, taking care of my auntie with a left-sided weakness due to stroke. It was within the family and a non-profit payment job but a rewarding one. I believe giving care is a calling not just a job. I felt a very great joy to be part of her life and assisting her with the rest of my family before her passing. It became part of me and decided to continue to give a helping hands to those who needed it, within my capabilities. You do unto others, as you wish to be done to you.
I became a caregiver simply because I've always enjoyed taking care of people. When I was a little girl, I would take care of my mother when she became ill. She always encouraged me to become a nurse. Being a great caregiver is having compassion, a desire to ensure the well being of others and being dedicated to providing excellent care. I'm extremely proud of having four successful years of homecare experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant and I'm hoping to acquire many more.

To Succeed, and always show continuous improvement are a few words that have always compelled me to become a caregiver, To ensure a compassionate, professional delivery of care to each patient.
