I'm a CNA for MHMR and I have CPR certified. I have over 5 years of experience of senior care from nursing home and home health care. I am a caring person. I like to think of myself as not only a senior caregiver, but also a senior companion. I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things. I am looking for part-time caregiver or private duty. I have good references.
I believe what makes me a great care giver is that I am sensitive and aware of others' needs. I'm attracted to caregiving because I feel I am making a difference in the patient's life and to me that has great reward. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I am making a difference in their life on a daily bases by meeting their needs of comfort, companionship and providing a safe environment. The most personal achievement I am proud of comes with the choice of being a caregiver and again, making a difference in the love ones of others, they become family to me.
I believe I am a great caregiver because I am able to put the individuals needs before my own; caring for others is something I also take a lot of pride in. After being a mother for many years and after my kids were old and grown, I came to the realization that my life was lacking something very important. I get self-satisfaction by caring for those who need it the most. Everyone deserves to have their needs met whether they can do it themselves or not. If not, then I want to be the person to help. This is why I became a caregiver. Not only does this give me a sense of accomplishment, but more importantly, my greatest accomplishment happens everyday when I am successfully able to care for others and meet their everyday needs.
