I'm a great and amazing CAREGIVER because, I'm a caring, loving, compassionate, understanding, responsible, reliable, patient, and considerate individual. I pursued my Medical studies for both M.A. and In-Home Caregiver because this is the field I knew I belong to. I enjoy being a Caregiver/Medical Assistant because I get to utilize my skills and knowledge and care for the elderly and families of need not want, besides fills my heart with joy. I'm very proud that I've achieved my education this field, for is have made me a genuine and inspiring adult and it has provided me with the knowledge and skills to help others help themselves. I have been a caregiver for almost 5 years. I worked at a care adult facility for a year in San Diego, California, worked with Chesterfield Health Services in Washington State for 2 years. Presently, I am a caregiver for a couple who is staying at Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community.

I've been care giving since I was about 8 years old. I helped my Mother care for my grand parents until they passed and I continued to take care of elderly family and friends. Once I began my adult years I would always find myself caring for a next door neighbor. I have been in the medical field for over 25 years full time. I have continued to provide care and add different experiences to my skills. For example I was a dialysis technician for 11 years and have continued to go with my best friend to her dialysis treatments after leaving the field. I have been a sleep technician for 17 years where i work a 7pm - 7am shift three nights a week so I would be good for a weekend or holiday caregiver over night.So with my experience and working mostly in the hospital no job is to big for me I have experience in every area with dialysis I've dealt with balancing diets and fluids. I am a where of symptoms when someone Blood pressure is too high or low. I have use CPR very often. With being a Sleep technician I am familiar COPD C pap machines and sicknesses that come from having sleep disorder. And with my full schedule I still find time to care for and help out older friends I have met over the years. So what make me a good care giver is that I do it naturally. I help because it makes me feel good and its a good thing to put out help for others. I also donate my time to feed the homeless when ever I can.

Being patient means that I should understands that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. When someone has compassion for another I will have an understanding of what the person is going through. Being attentive as caregiver, I can notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the Clients. And be confident in what your doing as far caring
