My biggest accomplishment was finishing school for medical assisting I know that I had to take care of my family and have responsibilities so I did what I had to. Hello, I have been a caregiver for 15 years. What made me decide to help and take care of people, when I seen my grandmother at 15 years old dying from colon cancer in a nursing home. Why I feel I am a good caregiver is because I treat people the way I would want to be treated, with respect, honesty, and reliability. I cared for my mom 4 1/2 years ago on hospice care in my own home, she died in 2012 from endometriosis cancer. I know I did the best I could, and I am glad I was there for her like she was for me.

Right from a young age, i always wanted to work with the public to make a positive impact to people's life and that is why i decided to chose a career in health care. I decided to become a caregiver about 12 years ago while caring for my 86 year old father. He had several medical issuses some include... COPD, seizures, stoke dementia etc. After his passing i realize how important it was to able to care for those who are unable to care for themselves. I also realize we may all be face with the need of someone to assist us with ADLs, errands and so forth one day. It brings me joy knowing I've helped someone continue to enjoy a quality life despite their limitation. I currently hold a CNA certification I'm a easy-going, compassionate, funloving a little quite at times self motivated and a serious minded female.
