I became attracted to caregiving after completing a CNA course and clinical rotation (at a local hospital) during my senior year of high school. This experience had a lasting impact on my life, prompting me to work and pursue college degrees within the healthcare industry. My previous work experience consists of working in home health care, hospital, nursing home, and community health center settings, where patient's individual needs varied. The most enjoyable part of being a caregiver is helping to make a difference in the life of others, from different walks of life. A personal achievement I am most proud of is being awarded Employee of the Year by the ETSU College of Nursing.

I've always enjoyed caring for the needs of others. Which started at a young age assisting family members with all different disease's/disorders . Also was a live in care giver to a lovely lady for 3yrs and at the age of 101 it was amazing to sit a listen to all of her life struggles and accomplishment's. Its always been a rewarding to not just know but to feel that you made a difference in the final days of someone's life k owi g you done any and everything to help make their final days as pleasant as possible.

I became a caregiver because my grandfather had Alzheimer's before he passed away and I helped take care of him. I know how important it is to the family to have their families taken care of. I think my favorite part of being a caregiver is seeing my individuals accomplish something and them smiling.

I am currently enrolled to be an LPN by August. I was a hard working and compassionate cna for 4 years. I've missed being in the field while roofing, and ready to get reincorporated until graduation. There are many benefits about caregiving, but the best is the feelings you give yourself helping someone who may never be able to return the favor. My biggest achievement in a long time will be finishing this LPN program and changing and sustaining my life for the better.
